This Mickey Mouse-esque excuse for a company is nothing more than a joke. I paid £16,000 for a fairly small and basic bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), which is certainly not cheap. How could they have got it so wrong?
The project should have taken two weeks (the deadline). They botched the job so badly that it took them six months to complete!
And the quality of the work is lower than if they had done it right the first time.
The showerhead they installed was broken.
They took the wrong measurements for a very large mirror but went ahead with it anyway: they took apart the door fronts, drilling holes all over it, dented the walls and roof, damaged the silver foil behind the mirror and scratched/dented the silver tile trim the mirror sits above, all in an attempt to wedge it in place. The enamel on the sink was missing in places.
They declared the job complete, and I had to complain to get these issues resolved.
The replacement mirror they fitted fell off the wall less than three hours after it was installed! It measures approximately 180 x 125 cm so that was very dangerous and, of course, it broke.
When drawing up the contract, they told me they wouldn't provide a painter so I hired one who did a magnificent job (this was not included in the £16k I’d already paid). His work was ruined by the mess made by the workmen from Denmore Bathroom Studio. And since the wall behind the mirror needed replastering and repainting, they brought in a painter of their own. Not only did their painter leave an uneven line where the wall colour meets the roof, but he had the audacity to use MY BATH TOWEL! to wipe his brush, leaving white paint on the dark blue fabric.
Their electrician unplugged my freezer and forgot to plug it back in, causing it to defrost and spoil the food. By the grace of God, I realised this before the floor was flooded and destroyed. He installed the wrong razor outlet, even though I had made it clear I wanted an identical model (i.e., exactly the same as the one they were replacing). He still installed one with a toothbrush base. The project manager/architect (a Denmore associate/co-owner) mocked the incompetence of his own subcontractor (the electrician) and told me that the toothbrush base installed was not even universal (it only fits one model of toothbrush according to him, rendering it useless).
The plumber literally shouted at me when I simply asked politely if the electrician was around when I discovered my freezer had been defrosted. The carpenter had to tell him to calm down.
The first carpenter they sent out took it upon himself to rummage through my kitchen looking for tea or coffee, using the kettle without asking (oddly, it turned out he had his own supplies making his behaviour not only inappropriate but unnecessary).
When looking to speak to me he would walk into my bedroom without knocking and without waiting for an answer.
I've never felt so uncomfortable in my own home. By the first day and a half they already had made me cry three times, and I'm a trusting, confident person.
I had to keep chasing Denmore Bathrooms for updates, asking when they planned to fix X/Y/Z, and physically visited the showroom countless times to get a response/communication from them.
If you want a traumatic experience, poor service, are willing to undergo hassle and inconvenience for literally half a year and pay a fortune for the privilege then this is the place to go.
I give Denmore Kitchen and Bathroom Studio, 14 Silverburn Place, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, sub-zero stars.
I see they've won awards for their showroom. Perhaps they should strive to achieve similar standards for their work in their clients' homes, where it really matters. But basic competence would suffice.
