RESPONSE TO ALESSANDRO MARCADELLA: Dear Alessandro Marcadella, we want to say that we are sorry you feel your experience with Kolani was unsatisfactory. We sell several bathtubs from several manufacturers each week and throughout the years, we hardly have any complaints about any defects with our tubs. However, when a customer or contractor takes one of our products home and alleges a damage, we ask them to take pictures and send us pictures of the product. In your case, you brought the bathtub back to our the store and we noticed the bathtub had signs that it had been already been opened and had been sitting in a job site for a while. You claimed you just opened the tub one day before you came but you had the tub for 3 weeks in your possession and when we took a lot at your tub there was a lot of sawdust and small pieces of wood in it and inside the drain as if someone had placed tools inside it or had somehow been cutting wood on top of it. The outter packaging box in which it came, had no dents or damage in the sections where you claim the tub was damaged. We concluded that when it left our showroom it was in intact and perfect condition. These tubs for this manufacturer are encased with hard cardboard box and double wrapped with plastic. When you came to the showroom to speak to the manager. He randomly opened two brand new tubs right in front of you. You saw what an intact packaged tub looks like. He opened it and showed you the inside and you saw that they looked brand new, clean with no sawdust, and undamaged. You then proceeded to get upset and demanded we give you a brand new tub. In all cases, where the damage is caused by our manufacturers or during delivery, we are more than happy to replace a product. In your case, unfortunately the damage was caused by you or your contractor, therefore any warranty on the manufacturer’s product is void. We tried to assist you by providing you with information of companies that repair bathtubs. You then threatened to write a negative online review for us if we did not replace your tub. We stand by our products and manufacturers’ return policies. Manufacturers won’t exchange or return damaged products. Unfortunately we could not replace your tub because the damage was not caused by our staff or from the manufacturer, it was cause by you. We hope that you can understand our manufacturer’s warranty and we are willing to work with by providing you with a discount on other products to improve your experience with Kolani. Thank you. WARNING!!!! EXCERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY. Whenever you buy something this big and this expensive, the prudent thing to so is take it out of the box and inspect it before you buy it. I didn't do this because I trusted these people. Also, I'm used to dealing with the big box stores who not only will have the same or similar product for cheaper but, more importantly, if anything is wrong with the item, they will exchange or give you your money back without any questions asked no interrogation what-so-ever. If I could give them zero or negative star, that is really the right grade. When i bought this tub and I picked it up myself and brought it home and took it out of the box, I discovered the damage which is very well hidden because it's under the lip of the top of the tub and can only be seen from careful inspection. I called Khaled from the Brampton store and explained what had happened and he told me to send him pictures. Instinctively, I already had a bad premonition of what was to happen next. After waiting for Khaleds reply and not getting it, I contacted upper management of the store and they also requested me to send pictures. I sent them the pictures and of course, did not receive a response back from them. Next day, I went in person to the store and management informed the salesperson Khaled to replace the tub. I was told they had no more and to see Adam in the Mississauga store who had one in stock. After explaining to Khaled that it would be easier for me to pick the tub up from Mississauga first and then delivering it to the customers house I could return the other tub on the way back which would have saved me 3 hours in driving and 2 trips Khaled said no even when I offered to leave him a deposit. I picked up the damaged tub went to the Cawthra store in Mississauga and spoke to Adam who was a very mean and nasty guy who started interrogating me and insulting and belittling me about how I or one of my workers damaged the tub and under no circumstances was he going to exchange it. I called the Brampton store and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. Moral of the story don't deal with these creeps they are cut-throat bandits who don't stand behind their merchandise. Now I will be taking these guys to small claims court. Better to buy from the big box stores who give you free delivery and stand behind their merchandise.
