Granite Shoppe

We recently used The Granite Shoppe for our bathroom and kitchen renovation. They had a great selection to choose from, and delivered a quality product on time , for a great price. Our sales person was Joe Ramano, who was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us, and went out of his way to help us with our selection by showing us many of the slabs in the warehouse. The installer Tony was very experienced and also did a great job. We are very happy with our choices and would certainly use them again.

Just Installed my my counter tops last week, and they did a great job. The service was amazing. I dealt with Tony, he was great and everyone their was helpful with picking stone (I think that was the hardest part, picking out the right stone) I will be using them for the washrooms soon.

Worst Nightmare Ever I was a repeat Customer. Asked for Mary who took care of me the 1st time. She was no longer there. Joe offered to help. He sent me to pick out a slab at Blackstone. After choosing the slab, they contacted the Ottawa Granite Shoppe and were told that there wasn't anyone named Joe there. We went back into the store and asked for Joe. told that he was on Holidays. LUCY offered to step in and take care of us. So began our worst Nightmare. Lucy not only didn't know what she was doing but managed to get so many things wrong that We finally gave up and told the Owner/Manager Mr. Hisham our problems with Lucy and left to go to another shop. Mr. Hisham assured us that the imprint of our Credit card would be destroyed and not used. 2 days later a charge of $1,000.00 was taken and appeared on our credit Card Statement. Even though they had promised to rip it up and that no charge was pending.. I called to complain and was told all kinds of Stories as to why they couldn't refund the deposit. From" We never took the deposit" to Lucy is away and we need her to verify payment." After threatening, going to the BBB and The Credit card Company. The invisible non exhisting Employee named Joe. Called and offered to pay us our money "IF" We could prove that they had taken a deposit on our card. In the end 15 days after first asking for our money back, we did finally get our deposit back but only after We proved to them that they had taken it. TALK ABOUT PLAYING GAMES. I AM WARNING YOU BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH LUCY OR JOE OF THE OTTAWA GRANITE SHOPPE.

I am a returning customer and given my last experience will never return to The Granite Shop. I agree with the other reviews in that the material and service with Joe is excellent. However, regardless of how nice the material is if the company cannot properly template, cut and install that material it’s worthless. My husband and I paid for a quartz countertop with a waterfall using a mitre cut. When the countertop was templated the gentleman asked us to install a piece of cabinet at the end of the sink where the waterfall would be installed. I was advised this would give the waterfall piece more stability. The gentleman then markedly his template to show the additional piece. Following the template, Joe, asked me to write an email confirming that the additional live eWorld be installed prior to the counter installation which I did. When the countertop was installed the sink piece was cut too short to allow the waterfall to be installed. The edge of the countertop had also been finished for a butt joint as opposed to having a mitre cut set up for the waterfall. (the mitre cut for the waterfall is what gives it a nice look and was discussed with Joe at the time of purchase). Apparently the template gentleman had set up the template for a butt joint and not a mitre cut which was never discussed with me at the time of templating. All to say the 12ft of countertop had to be replaced and that piece was affixed to the other length of countertop contains my stove top- if both pieces could not be separated the whole kitchen countertop would have to be recut. I emailed the Granite Shop about the recutting. The long and short of it is after 3 weeks the manager wrote me an email blaming me for not having all of my cabinets installed prior to templating and that he was being generous enough for offering to fix the issue. He advised me he would speak with his people and get back to me about my options. Now 4 weeks after the install I haven’t heard anything from the manger and therefore asked for a refund. Initially I was only offered the value for the material and not the taxes. I threatened legal action and I was refunded the value of the material with the tax. We are very disappointed in the Granite Shop and particularly their management. We did not receive what we paid for and then got blamed when the mistake was made by them. Hopefully this experience will enlighten others to chose a better shop.

My parents have just picked the granite they liked. Joe has been absolutely professional and wonderful to work with. He was patient as my parents changed their mind on the colour and offered his advice on the edging. They dealt with Tony as well who was also very pleasant to deal with. So far great service, will update once counter has been installed.
