More disappointed each time I go to Chintz. Although they cleaned up the clutter-filled pathways to make it easier to get around without knocking something over, the store has so much less product than before. Twice I've gone and couldn't find a thing to buy. Hmmmh, same thing I've noticed at Pier 1 also, store with scanty products. Are both in financial trouble?

“Chintz went above & beyond to make things right!!” I recently purchased a dining table from Chintz here in Edmonton. As it was in their Calgary store, I would need to pay for having it shipped up to Edmonton and then a separate cost to deliver it to my apartment – for a total of around $316.00 shipping. Kristi (Sales Associate) was upfront about the costs of shipping, and the table was still a great deal even after adding the shipping costs. I agreed and purchased the table. Chintz doesn’t have its own trucks and has to contract out for shipping and local delivery. That’s where the problems started – the shipping contractor in Calgary contracted to a third party in Edmonton for local delivery, who called me & told me they’d deliver on the Friday between 10 a.m. & 5 p.m. and would call 30 minutes before arriving. No call, no delivery after staying home from work all day. I let Kristi know and she and Regina (Shipping) tried & tried to reach someone at the local delivery contractor - they kept me in the loop the entire time. When the table finally did get delivered (1 whole week after the promised delivery), Wendy, the General Manager @ Chintz, arrived at my apartment to ensure that the delivery company (only the driver to bring in a large table & wanted me to help bring it in, & asked if he could leave it in the garage – I live in a highrise…what garage?!?!) delivered it properly & didn’t just leave it in the lobby. Kristi then came over 2 days later after she got off work to assemble the table. Chintz also refunded me the $316.00 shipping charges for all the hassle I went through. Kristi, Regina & Wendy – thank you all for going above and beyond to make it right – it’s that kind of service that will keep me bragging about Chintz and ensure that I keep shopping at your store in the future!!

Extremely rude. 4 of the workers were clustered talking and walked by us several times without saying a word to us for our entire visit, even when we were picking up and interested in products. Very entitled attitude

Chintz and Company - has really missed the mark, and lives by this rule! Caveat Emptor. Latin for "let the buyer beware." A doctrine that often places on buyers the burden to reasonably examine property before purchase and take responsibility. Once this merchant has your money they will do whatever it takes to keep it in their coffers! The sales environment is aggressive, out date hierarchy of commission sales . A top down principles directive instills this mandate into their sales culture "say whatever your customer needs to hear", "do what ever it takes to secure a sale". It's like watching seagulls fight over french fries. When a legitimate concern is brought forward the management staff are quick to dismiss any accountability and intentionally become amnesic. Chintz and Company are well rehearsed in the blaming the customer for any errors, omissions and damages on the products and or orders they peddle. You must wonder why a company that has been around as long as Chintz and Company has never achieved any accreditation from the BBB , or consumer awards,. They see no value in praise from their clientele and do nothing to encourage return patronage . Facts are facts the only value this proprietor has is the value of the buildings Chintz and Co. operated from. I would be surprised if this store is around in two years. So if you have a gift card or in store credit better use it now.

One of my goto stores in the Edmonton area when I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for. A great place to find that something unique. The staff are great with suggestions and help. There are heavy scents here so for those who have sensitivities be cautioned.
