Michaels is absolutely my favourite store hands down. It has everything you're looking for. Definitely sign up for the Michaels Rewards Program if you find yourself shopping there often, every day there is a coupon available for 40%-55% off. Lots of sales. I love to attend the special events, sometimes they make slime (for free!) Or invite kids to make a beautiful painting. I've had one bad experience with the staff but every other time has been just fine, and I go there A LOT so thats a very good thing. However its very difficult to find staff to help you find something. They're always at the register and barely ever roaming and eager to help.

It is next to impossible to find anyone who will help you find things. If you do find someone it's the luck of the draw if they are knowledgeable about their products. I'd rather go to a smaller, local store and support them.

The store is difficult to navigate, however, has just about everything for the "Martha Stewart" crafty stuff. They have a great selection of artificial flowers and greenery; if you like that kinda thing. Sign up with your email and get 50% off your first item purchased, and frequent promotions. Only negative is that they had very few floor staff, so when you walk in, a helpful tip is to look for a staff member in the floor first, instead of your item; it is simply faster. Usually a line up at checkout, however, only 3 - 5 minutes. Shopping off peak hours is also best.

Never, ever purchase more than one item at a time at Michaels, and always take with you a 40% Off coupon from their website, or screenprint. If you lack either, they will give you a 40% discount if you offer your email address. Oddly enough, you don't wind-up receiving mail from them at all! These coupons don't apply for alteady discounted items, in which case buy all you like! But for a regularly priced item, always use a 40% discount coupon unless saving money is completely unimportant to you.

Some great finds in the sale areas, like a recent buy of a cherished Faber Castell set of pens with fashion illustration booklet. The good stuff is grabbed quickly. Regular prices are high. Very friendly, helpful staff. They do not stock higher quality items like Caran d'Ache watercolor pencils. However lots of lower quality to semi-pro fine art supplies and paper. Lots of good craft items.
