Knowledgeable staff with a wide selection of fabrics. Layout of the store is a little confusing, had me asking for help a few times but otherwise came and left with what I was looking for. Will advise you to know/research cost of items beforehand, some items are sneakily overpriced.

Terrible customer service. I usually go to the Bedford store (and from now on always will) but I happened to be closer to the Bayers Lake one, so decided to go there instead. I am a frequent shopper, I get the same type of material EVERY time, as I make pillow cases for conventions and shows. So I KNOW how much each metre costs, with my member card. I grabbed what I needed, TRIPLE checked the price because it was supposed to be this huge sale (?!) today and tomorrow, but unfortunately my material was not on any additional sale, and my member card only gave me 40% off, like it SAID on the price sign. I also decided to grab another type of fabric for the first time, because the color wasn't offered in my usual material, and it was super cheap, but NOT on sale, at all. Because of how cheap it is. I go up to get my metres cut, and this GROUCHY woman, comes over, says the bare minimum to me, and looks at the material, and spends a good 5 minutes at the discount book. And I can see her scanning over and over the page, and its pretty obvious she doesn't know what shes looking for. Eventually she came back and told me I would only get 20% off. I tell her no, its 40%. She argues with me, and I offer to go show her where I got it, her response is "no, you probably got it somewhere else." EXCUSE ME?! There was a line up building behind me so I asked if it had any additional discount due to the big sale, nope. She goes to grab my other material, which remember is NOT on sale, is already super cheap, she does the same thing, looking for it through the book, taking forever. Comes back and tells me its 20% off. This woman CLEARLY doesn't know what shes doing, how to read a freaking number or code, and I will never go back. Even the cashier afterwards was SO unfriendly and couldn't care less about customer service. I recommend everyone go to Bedford as I've never had anything even CLOSE to that attitude, the women are all lovely and make you feel welcome.

Never have I ever had such horrendous customer service especially from my favourite store which I go to often. I brought my 3 kids, 7, 2 and 5 months. The 2 year old was in an umbrella stroller due to being previously being told shopping carts were not permitted. The 5 month old was being carried in an infant car seat. I was having issues getting through the door due to the stroller wheels wanting to turn sideways so they were not able to go over the door way. Common issue, but the customer service cashier just stood there not bothering to try and help and just said " looks like you have your hands full" I replied, "yes I do." The cashier than proceeded to tell my son he couldnt take this McDonalds cup around the store. Which was understandable, theres fabric. I said i"you can just throw it out." It had maybe 3 pieces of ice in it. She said that since it wasnt empty she couldnt and he had to take it when he left. I continued around the store picking out a few bolts to be cut when I had set my carseat down to look at a rack. When a worker said i shouldnt have her in an idle because someone could trip. By then i had enough. Obviously i know that. That is why shopping carts are most ideal. To keep children up off the ground and not running around. Where would you like for me to put them? Obviously in the car is best so that's where we headed. So for now, Bayers Road fabricville lost a regular customer, which is hard for me as it was my happy place. But since your staff have horrible manners, it's a huge boy-cott on my end. No matter how great this store was.
