This was an amazing store for discounted fabrics that are great quality. And many sewing needs. It's a shame that it's closing down but I hope the owners enjoy their well deserved retirement!

Quick process to get some unique fabrics. I came in for two specific types in mind and found both! They have a lovely selection to choose from and great prices!

An institution. Owner is a bit of a crank but super knowledgeable staff and amazing selection. Sad that its doors are closing at the end of the month...

At Nasty Fabrics, I was spoken to in a manner I can only liken to barbarity. My friend and I asked an employee (a middle-aged Hispanic woman) where we could find the basket she had given us to put some of our items while browsing around. Innocent enough of a question. However, her attitude-laden response, verging on yelling, was "I already told you it was at the counter!" Geesh, we thought. Old crank. We shrugged it off and proceeded to look for the counter. On the way, we passed a display with a selection of lace collars tacked onto it. My friend went to find the closest employee so we could inquire more about them. This employee happened to be - you guessed it - the same Hispanic woman. She came up to the display huffing and puffing, asking us what we wanted. I told her I wanted to take a better look at three of the collars if possible, to determine their sizing, etc. Completely ignoring me, she continually bursted out, asking me what I wanted. Again I repeated myself. She storms over to a box under a table - gee, the way she was speaking, you'd think they were on the other side of the planet - and picks up plastic bags with the collars, throwing them on the table. I pick up one set of collars to examine them, all the while noticing she was staring at me viciously in silence, as if I were forbidden to touch them. She then proceeds to speak to me like I'm a grade A fool who needs a beatdown. "There is a left and a right side to the collar!" Yes, I am aware. I request to see the other collar. She continues moaning and groaning throughout each step, as if I were giving her the most burdensome task in the world. My friend informed her that she didn't need to be so angry, and that we would like to see the other collar, if it isn't so much work for her. She continues her brutish, inhuman denigrating speech to us customers, really speaking to us as if we were a pair of stray dogs. Then the straw that broke the camel's back: a bald male employee, a few steps down, was looking at us throughout the entire encounter. He then interjected. Instead of defending us against this disgusting behaviour, he proceeds to DEFEND HER, telling us that we didn't have to bother her because the collars were up on display. Sure, because from a display I could ascertain the sizing and other qualities I needed, and because it was just so much work to get a few collars out of a box for me to see. At this point I would no longer subject myself to their circus show and left them speaking. I cannot think of a better establishment to be closing down than Nasty Fabrics and their nasty personnel. Customer service is an unheard-of phenomenon at this place. I have never been spoken to, whether as a customer or as a regular human being, in the manner I was at this place. Like a fool, a stray, a child. Take your collars and shove it.

This place is great for interior design fabrics, notions and hardware. Huge selection of upholstery fabric, trims, cushion inserts, curtain hardware. Upstairs is the garment fabric, which for my purpose is not as great as their interior design fabrics. The garment fabrics are either cheap costume fabric or very high end lace and silk. It seems like they don't get much turnover in the garment fabric because I mostly see the same stuff every time I'm in there.
