A tonne of yarn options ranging from 100% acrylic to the higher end options. They have very friendly staff who are happy to help you find options for your project. To top it off, unlike so many other yarn stores prices are clearly labeled on the shelves so you don't have to run back to the cash every second skein to see how much it costs (which I hate). THANK YOU!! They quite often have great sales as well which you get notified about if you are on their mailing list. If you sew they also carry sewing machines and seem to do a fair amount of repair business. The downside of this store is that after a certain amount of time I get seriously claustrophobic. The aisles are somewhat narrow to begin with and boxes of unpacked yarn are often stacked in them making them more narrow. Add in other patrons and you seem to be constantly having to move out of someone's way. Then again on a couple of occasions this has probably saved me from myself!

This place has fantastic prices and a lot of stuff! If you are a knitter, it's likely heaven for you. I found lots of great deals on yarn of course, but I'd love it if they had the room to have the equivalent selection of cross-stitch and rug-hooking stuff!

Amazingly cool store to browse. This guy has everything for sewing and knitting. Not just yarn.

Lots of yarn for a good price!! I walked away with some sugarbush chill, the lady there was doing her own thing and helped point it out to me and cash it out but didn’t hover over my yarn squishing experience. There is tons of options and maybe a good place to go instead of Michaels but if you want some more indie dyed and novelty yarn this is not the place. Wall to ceiling is covered in Bernat chunky, Caron cakes, yarn cones, patrons Kroy, yarns I’ve never seeen or heard of before. Definitely an interesting spot and I’ll be going here next time I need more selections for bernat chunky for fuzzy baby blankets

I just got my sewing machine back after 10 months in limbo at The Yarn Guy. It is my very basic backup machine, and needed a replacement lift lever - a $10 part. I was never called about the machine, I went in person on multiple occasions, only to be told their repair person would look at it next week. I finally lost patience and asked for my machine back. When I got home I opened it to find it completely disassembled, with wrong parts inserted, filthy dirty, and parts missing. I called the store for an explanation and got no more than "oh well, guess he couldn't fix it". No, he actually wrecked it. I went out to The Beach Sewing Centre and bought a second hand replacement from a reliable source. Do not take your machines there, and for goodness sake do not buy expensive machines that require service there. A disaster on every level.
