Working with John and his team at Richard's Upholstery was an amazing experience, from beginning to end. John really got what I was looking to do - reclaim the original splendor of these old Finnish leather chairs, by recreating, pretty much exactly, what I had. We started by sharing pictures, discussing what would be involved, costs, and timing. I thought the labor costs were reasonable when I first was presented with them, and later once I saw the quality, I thought the labor was a bargain. The leather was expensive. And hint: if you're doing leather upholstery work, it ain't cheap. John had three different grades to select from, and samples of each, and he sourced the hides from his suppliers and showed it to me before starting work. John painstakingly recreated by family heirlooms. They are flawless. Perfect. Exactly what I wanted. In fact, after I carefully looked at every seam, I realized they are actually better than new. The seams are rolled and stitched, where they were raw (on the hidden areas) on the originals. Lucky for me these will probably last the rest of my life, but I can, will and do recommend John and Richard's Upholstery without hesitation. In today's society that values disposable fashion and whim, I fear for the future of artists and craftsmen such as John, so don't throw away that precious piece of furniture, have it renewed with Richard's Upholstery.

I have recommended Richards Upholstery for many of my client's upholstery work. They all have very positive remarks on the workmanship and service. Will continue to pass their name to more clients. Thanks!

Could not have been happier with the service and finished product. We had our sectional couch seat and back cushions reupholstered and they managed to match the original material exactly! They did a fantastic job and took good care of our questions and concerns! I would highly recommend.

It was a pleasure having John and Emiel reupholster my two Bergere chairs. They were courteous and professional and wanted to ensure that I was happy with the outcome. I requested that the large floral pattern be placed in a particular position and they were more than happy to show me their work during the process. The work was excellent with much attention given to the placement of the pattern, double piping and comfort of the cushions. I highly recommend them and will return in the future. My chairs are stunning and I have received many compliments. Thank you John and Emiel!
