Staples Thunder Bay

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am going back to school and brought my laptop in for a diagnostic because it was slowing down and the charging cord was falling out easily (was still working and using it everyday). Paid for the $60 diagnostic fee. They called me back in a few days telling me I needed a new motherboard ($600) and should just buy a new laptop. I told them I would come pick it up and buy a laptop in the future as money is tight when your a student. When I got there they told me it was still in working order, I bring it home and it would not turn on. Called staples and was told “my motherboard probably finally gave out, plug it in for two hours and see if that works”. It didn’t. Was already super unhappy with this service so I went to Best Buy and explained to them what happened, they were super understanding and gave me a great deal on a new laptop. I went back to staples thinking maybe they would be just as understanding and give me my diagnostic fee back or SOME sort of help, maybe even an apology? The technician that helped me was somewhat helpful and we were both very patient with one another. He explained he was getting his manager to see what they could do for me. The manager came out with an attitude and was EXTREMELY rude. He proceeded to tell me my laptop was broken when I dropped it off (it wasn’t). I asked him to show me the paper I signed saying they could give my laptop back to me broken. He said “be right back”. I was extremely flustered at this point and told the other technician standing there that I was leaving and thanks for wasting my time and money. From dropping my laptop off, to picking it up, and bringing it back, the staff was very unprofessional. I will never step foot in that store again and will warn others.

Management worked hard to accommodate out of sock sale items and out of town arrangements to pick up in another store

I really like shopping at Staples. The staff is friendly and goes out of their way to help you find what you need.

You may as well just burn your money. Staff have no accountability, manager is no different. Go to Lowreys it's a night and day experience - they actually care about what they are doing and the service they provide.
