CLS Landscape Supply

Be wary as a general member of the public with purchasing and delivery of product from this retailer. I chose CLS as I didn't wish to buy product from Burnco and wanted to go with a local company, and I also wished to return any product (by piece) I didn't need, so CLS appeared to fit this need nicely. Had a very poor experience when I ordered stone for a patio I was building. Following my order over the phone, there was a delay from the manufacturer.. no fault to CLS, and they stated it would be about a week and would call when the stone was ready for delivery, so I paid upfront as a commitment to them. The following week (8 days) after not hearing any updates or to schedule a delivery, I called and was informed that my stone had arrived several days earlier and they were waiting for my call?!? Thinking that things can be overlooked on occasion.... no big deal, I said I'd like the stone ASAP, and accepted a scheduled delivery for 2 days later. Then calling in the morning of two days later, I was advised that due to logistical issues on their end, my stone would be delayed by another day as they had deliveries for other clients and contractors without enough people working to deliver my product. Being very frustrated now, I pointed out that they have lacked on communication and promised follow-through since they had my money and further stated that their website had a promise of "striving to go the extra mile" so I expect this issue to be fixed and, while I understand their challenges, I as the customer shouldn't be punished for that. I then received my stone within 2 hours on my door step. Following this, my order was shorted by a stone which they did deliver later that same day - an effort which was appreciated in light of everything that had happen. Following this, I found several stones on one pallet had all broken on one corner (possibly due to a defect or poor strapping during transportation or loading\unloading during delivery) along with broken pallets. I returned these items when I could 2 weeks later, and was met with a very skeptical response from staff, and was told that I may have caused the damage when I transported the remaining pieces back to them. Following much more discussion and explanation of what I found and a picture of how I found the stone on the pallet, I was eventually refunded everything I returned. I won't deal with them again. In person, they were nice to deal with but actions speak louder than words.
