I went to Rona on the Langley bypass and made the mistake of buying paint without primer. I ended up doing two coats and the previous light blue was still showing through. I went back to the store to get some primer and was helped by Drew, the assistant store manager who recommended a great primer and gave me some really good advice. He said if that didn’t work, then come back and he would give me new paint. Unfortunately the end result after priming and painting again still wasn’t great.. so I went back to the store and was helped this time by the store manager, Stacy who went above and beyond to help me. She was very kind and understanding of the fact that I had tried everything to make that paint work.. I even changed the light bulbs in my house to see if the wall color would look different. She ended up refunding the paint I had previously bought and gave me two new cans of paint in a different color. She just charged me the difference since this paint was more expensive, but she was kind enough to give me a 20% discount as well. I can’t say enough about the service I received here from both managers. It’s not all the time that you come accross people that truly value and take care of their customers. :)

This is my favourite hardware store in Langley. The staff are the best! It is just the right size to carry everything I need, withou having to spend hours on end tramping around one of the big stores the size of a town. Prices are good and returns are not a hassle

I stopped into the Rona on Langley bypass to pick up a switch. When I got home and wired it in I discovered that it was working reverse to the way it was labeled on the package. I took it back and swapped it for a different one. The second one was also reverse to the way it was supposed to work. I made a third trip back to exchange it again this time bringing a tester to test the switch before I left the store. When I explained to the customer service representative that I had driven back and forth three times and that I was hoping to test the next switch before I left the store she objected and said that I could not go about testing all their switches. Very carefully and politely I explained once again that I was not able to work with the switch that I had as it was packaged incorrectly and was working opposite to the way that it was supposed to. I further explained that if they had any other switches in the store that were also labeled incorrectly it would create bad will as people would only be inconvenienced and have to return these things to the store. I would not take a fourth switch without testing it first because I could not afford to just continue driving back and forth and trying them at home. The customer service representative got her back up and stated abruptly "you can't just go about testing all of our switches, I need an M.O.D." I responded politely saying that I didn't know what an M.O.D. was. She simply repeated you can't go about testing all of our switches I need an M.O.D. By this point I was beginning to really wonder about the service at this location. I said to her, I do not know what an M.O.D. is, all that I know is right now it feels like I'm getting really bad service. One of the other staff who were standing there looking very uncomfortable with what was going on said to me an M.O.D. is a manager on duty. They then said that one was on their way to help me. When the manager arrived the two of us walked back to the section where the switches were. I explained to him what I had been through and he said it made sense to test the switches as they can't sell them if they're not right anyways. At that point the two of us went through their entire stock testing every single one. Every single one was incorrectly packaged. The manager apologized to me for the fact that their stock was a mess and for the way that I had been treated up at the front of the store. I went back to the front of the store and got a refund. I left the store. It was now 3 hours since the entire process had begun and I was feeling disappointed and empty handed. Nothing was offered as compensation for this ordeal. I would seriously think twice about going back here. I went to the Home Depot after leaving here and found everything I needed and no rude customer service.

This store had some really nice flowers in planters when I was there a couple of days ago. My wife says they were a lot less expensive than Home Depot, and more original. I was actually there for a gas barbecue and they had everything from the flyer in stock. The price was very good and there were lots of accessories to choose from. The staff was very nice and because the store is smaller, it was easier to find help when needed. This store is my new favourite for hardware/home related purchases.

3 workers up front unable to help. The ladies upfront paged for someone to help, no one came after asking twice. Finally a man who didn’t work there tried to help. Couldn’t find what I was looking for, left to Home Depot. Very helpful at Home Depot. Disappointed woth my truly Canadian Rona.
