I have always been a big fan of Lee Valley - but recently bought a light packable backpack while there for $22. Later at home I noticed a sticker on its label that says "Warning: Cancer and Reproductive Harm". I called Lee Valley - the person I spoke with said they have been selling this backpack for a couple of years and he was unaware of this Warning. I then called the head office in Ottawa - they too were unaware of it. So Lee Valley is selling a product with this Warning on it - and they know nothing about the level of risk or the nature of the potential harm - and neither person I spoke with seemed very interested in it. They dismissed it as a California standard - which has stricter regulations than Canada. I think Lee Valley should investigate more when a product has this kind of Warning and be able to advise its customers on the nature of the risk.

Great place to buy tools and useful kitchen or gardening stuff. I suggest you wait for deals or subscribe to their newsletter as they usually have good discounts. Thanksgiving and Christmas time is also a good time to buy from them.

This is an amazing store! The staff are really helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of the products is high, and I get things here that I can not get anywhere else. Granted it isn't the cheapest place, but I've never been unhappy with my purchases and my garden supplies have great longevity. Other than a few scratches I've inflicted on it, my potting table still looks like new.

Lee Valley is a dangerous place to visit! There are so many unique, ingenious and fascinating items that it's a mind-blowing excursion every time I go. They have so many useful inventions to make life easier that you never would have dreamed up in a million years. Their three main focuses are the gardening, woodworking and cooking but they have so much more. I'm addicted to their seasonal catalogues and always keenly anticipate my next visit. It's a must for one-of-a-kind really cool gifts, especially stocking stuffers, that will make lasting impressions without breaking your back account. Definitely check them out! I love their 90-day money back guarantee. The staff are very knowledgeable and kind, and are always happy to help you, which is a rare and happy find these days. It"s the kind of professional service that disappeared 30 years ago. It's such a welcome relief to know it's still alive at Lee Valley : )

Fast efficient. Great staff. Good prices on hard to find items. Much better than home improvement stores. Quality of product is very good.
