What's the unusual bit is there are plenty of knowledgable staff which seems to be unusual for many hardware stores. Prices a bit steep but quality sometimes better here than what you find at Amy's dollar store across the street. Nice to have a full hardware store option downtown.

Luke was amazing and sooooo helpful! He fixed an issue we had with our double stroller. He spent almost an hour fixing and adjusting it for us. We are so happy now! He really helped us out so much. Thanks so much Luke!!!!! .

I liked to shopping here. The staff has the knowledge and they are friendly. I found the prices really high, but we are in Downtown!

AMAZING STAFF, questionable prices. Every single time I visit the store, the staff have always been super helpful and friendly. Absolutely no issues when it comes to staffing. The variety of items in the store is also impressive, I can find almost everything I’m looking for. However, whoever controls the prices may need to re-evaluate some items. I bought the identical item from HH and later at dollarama on denman. Same item, but three times more ($7.49 vs 2.50). I understand HH may not have the purchasing power as dollar stores, or they might be paying their staff way more than what dollarama does, or their rent might be much higher (I don’t know, just speculating), but let’s just say those were true in HH's favour, paying three times more doesn’t leave a great impression. Would I still patron HH in the future? Sure, but I will be a bit more careful about handing over my money.

Amanda I am so glad to see you wrote a review as you said you would. I have been searching for it as I was one of the ladies standing behind you in line that day; and yes you were talking THAT loud. Myself and others agreed with you on one point, the rude behaviour you described however I'd like to correct you when you point the finger at George. Obviously you don't have any mirrors to look at your own behaviour as you; my dear; were the rude one!!! People like you who write reviews like this need to be stopped especially when they try to point the finger at others. George kept calm and offered you a store credit; which was against the "no return policy" which incidentally I noticed posted right in plain view on the counter when I got to the front of the line. I don't believe that it was the staff member you were upset with but the return policy which you clearly didn't agree with as "you wanted your money back because you couldn't afford it". Really it took you 6 days to decide you couldn't afford it, I usually know before I purchase and take something home that I can't afford it. I felt bad for you, you must have had a bad day and needed to take it out on someone. Perhaps try verbally abusing that sad excuse of a man you brought with you who helped chime in when you weren't getting anywhere. I felt bad for George and apologized to him after you left; it made us wonder how many customers like you do they face every day who think they are right and want their way no matter what. I was waiting for you to start stamping your feet or get on the floor and throw a tantrum. He tried explaining things to you but for every point he'd make you had what seemed to be a well prepared and very scripted answer which left me and those behind you in line wondering how many stores you perform this charade at. You forgot to mention in your review that you ended up getting your money back because you were causing such a commotion. All of us behind you were at the point we wanted to give you your money out of our pockets just to shut you up and get you out of the store. You are the pitiful one Amanda and I sincerely hope you remember your words that you will never shop at this store again; I hope you don't. I have shopped here since the store opened and George and all the other employees have been nothing but accommodating, helpful and very friendly. Please take your business and your returns (after you've obviously used them) to big box stores that can absorb the costs of your "type of business" and leave Home Hardware for those of us who truly know how to respect businesses and each other in the West End.
