DO NOT GO THERE! I've had a car inspected before purchasing it. They charged me $130 and told me it was "in excellent condition, not a single thing needs attention". I bought the car and drove it home to Victoria (17km away). Two days later, as I'm driving in the city, the engine shuts off while driving and the car wasn't starting for a few hours. Canadian tire refuse to take responsibility, saying something must have happened after the inspection. The manager of the shop actually told me that since I made it home fine after leaving them it means nothing was wrong with it. So I guess that's what their word and work are worth for- 17km. Save yourself the money, and take your car elsewhere.

People were friendly, puppy dogs were well behaved. And the staff help me find what I was looking for. When they could not help me they found someone that could. That's good service you know!

Great deals, but I can never find a staff member to unlock something.... Always spend more time looking for staff than I do my purchase.

I usually find whatever I am looking for. I find staff pleasant and helpful if any can be found. Definitely not staffed as it used to be 5yrs ago. Also why would the garden section outside be closed at 5pm when the store is open until 9pm?? It's summertime with longer days and lots of folks are needing plants etc.

Great place for overall shopping and catching tools or whatever on sale. Although I don't often return things, when I do it has never been an issue. I have found the tools overall are pretty good quality, with the Mastercraft hand tools having a lifetime warranty, it's hard to beat. I notice some of the time stuff not on sale can be overpriced. I have even found things supposedly 60% off, then went online to other places and found the regular price cheaper. In general Canadian Tire seems to be one of the worst places to get your car worked on. It would seem they hire mostly apprentice mechanics that can't get a job elsewhere I would presume. I had a bad experience many years ago and never went back and decided soon after to start doing my own repairs which has worked out well. It seems whoever I have talked to has had similar issues. I just helped a neighbour fix his brakes last week. Canadian tire quoted around $1000, we fixed it for around $30 and an hour's work. Fairly decent auto section inside though for picking up odds and ends, and great staff at this location, who tend to be quite helpful, although I have noticed a few times they did not know so instead of admitting it, they have me a total line of b.s. Overall, if you can get it on sale and have confirmed that the sale price is really a sale price, go for it! Between home depot and Canadian Tire I manage to get almost everything I need.
