As a young person interested in getting into woodcraft, I thought this gentleman would be a little more helpful or excited to give me advice. Instead, his demeanor was very rude, and he seemed impatient as if wanting the exchange to be over ASAP. While I was browsing, another customer came in and he was very short with them as well, and incredibly unhelpful. It's a shame this is one of the only woodcraft supply stores in the valley! He is a terrible businessman.

Physically went into the store to order a band saw blade, I was told a week to ten day wait time....Not a problem ..2 weeks went by, three weeks.five weeks.......finally ordered it thru a Ontario Co. and had my blade in 5 days. I really do not care that the supplier is slow in filling orders, that is not my problem.. If you tell me a week to ten days then that is when I should have my product , excuses do not cut it!

Bad experience with an internet order from Island Woodcraft. First Doug shipped the wrong item, then was unable to deliver the correct item for three months, then refused to give me a refund after I declined to pay an increased price. I felt that I bent over backwards to do business with a local company, and when he couldn't deliver I was met with a cascade of excuses. The best was that he couldn't give me a refund "since the Paypal time limit had expired", which of course was due to him shipping me the wrong item, and the shipping delay on the correct item from his supplier! Doug later changed that to 'our policy is no refunds, store credit only", then he tried to blame me for ordering the wrong item. Although this was a small $$$ transaction, I found it very disappointing that Doug was more concerned about the money than about keeping the customer happy. I would not recommend doing business with Doug under any circumstances.
