It's a shame play just like this or going away always great service people who know what they're talking about can show you right where what you're looking for is located not at all like Lowe's or Home Depot or everyone is an expert idiot.

Great hardware store with friendly and helpful staff. Each time I have shopped here, I am greeted by a staff member and assisted with finding items for my random home improvement projects.

ACE HARDWARE is the BEST PLACE AROUND, to get the special things you absolutely CANNOT find anywhere else, to COMPLETE your home care hardware needs! Whatever they may be!!! Been NEEDING the ACE TEAM MEMBERS AND THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SINCE I WAS YOUNG...FOR SOME TIME, EVEN MY CUB SCOUT LEADER, IM 49 NOW, WAS AN ENGINEER BEFORE RETIREMENT, AND HAD AN IMMENSE FIELD OF KNOWLEDGE TO DRAW FROM AND SHARE, IN HIS RETIREMENT PART-TIME POSITION AT ACE; (GOD REST HIS SOUL!) AND WAS NOT ONLY AN AWESOME RESOURCE WHEN I CAME IN NEEDING ASSISTANCE, BUT WAS A FRIENDLY, KIND LOVING INDIVIDUAL, AS I BELIEVE YOULL FIND THEIR PERSONEL TO BE ALSO!! EVEN WAS BLESSED WITH A SHISKABOB, ON MY WAY IN FOR A COUPLE SPECIAL SCREWS LAST SUNDAY! THANKS AGAIN! ACE IS THE PLACE!

My favorite store in McHenry. It still has an amazing variety of "stuff". Downgraded star rating slightly because it's becoming a bit more cookie cutter, with fewer staff. The staff that are there are friendly and helpful.

Husband had specific list to do maintenance on his boat. The associate took the time to help him with finding everything. He was very knowledgeable and we were very greatful.
