ETA: While some things have changed, there are still many things that could be improved at the co-op in Port Hood. There is next to nothing available for people who are lactose intolerant/gluten free/vegan. Whereas the co-op in Inverness stocks Daiya cheeses, and butter and vegan meats. The times the co-op remains open could use updating as well. It staying open until 7 Mon-Thurs is fine, but Friday it should be open until 9pm, and Sat and Sun it should be open 7 and 5 respectively. ~*~*~ Customer service could definitely be better. Every week there are numerous items in the flyer that the PH Co-op does not have or they run out of the sale items within the first day of the flyer. The selection is truly terrible. The meat often looks awful, many times there are sections of shelves that are nearly empty - whether that is because they've run out, or just haven't bothered restocking right away I can't say but either way is unacceptable. Frankly, because there is no competition in Port Hood, there is little reason for the co-op staff to bother and it's obvious they don't. Which is why I buy my groceries in Hawkesbury. The PH co-op is no better than an over-priced convenient store.

Well equipped supermarket.

Terrible customer service .... folks at the cash register need a lesson on customer appreciation and service . Out-of-stocks everywhere . There is a promotion going on and on 4 trips to this location, I was not asked if I wanted a ballot, nor given one. How this business remains open is a wonder ! Update : Although some improvement has been made in customer service and 'in stock' conditions , more attention to both is still needed . . . the new 3 star rating perhaps is a bit generous but since improvement seems to be in the wind, let us hope it continues
