Though I only live 10 miles from the store, it was my first time there. My wife and I only stopped in to see their tool selection. We met Emma, a young lady sitting at her desk doing God only knows what. She was an absolute joy to speak with, and for only being 18 years old, really knew her stuff. We'll be back for whatever tools, etc we need. Emma put a great face to the whole store.

We go to Michigan every year and while I was there, I decided to visit the Sears Hometown in Lapeer because I needed to grab some batteries, tools, and a couple of other odds and ends. Wow! It's totally not like any Home Depot or Lowe's box store I've ever been to. It's above and beyond by far. It's owned by someone who makes you feel like family vs. a corporation. I spent time talking with the owner Kym who is awesome and totally down to Earth. I swear, they seem to actually care about you as a person instead of a dollar amount. Kym the owner was telling me all about their purchasing and leasing programs as well. I cannot speak higher of my experience here. I only wish I could give 6 stars! Emma and Adam who work there also helped me find what I was looking for. Totally polite and well mannered. If you need anything home related and remember what it used to be like to go to a local hardware and appliance store. GO HERE!

Awesome store! The staff is friendly and helpful. It's so much better than shopping at a big box store. I will definitely go back and make this my go to place for household items!
