Bought a puppy chihuahua 2 weeks ago, was very odd that in the display case the puppy was as happy as could be, the second he came out of the display case he turned super timid and cowered any time you would even look at him, my son fell in love and based on the information given by the store he was a happy go lucky puppy and just needs to warm up to us, we got the free vet check which was a 3 minute exam with yeah hes good and informed only one set of shots was completed not 3 like the store informed us. forward to present day, this puppy will not go pee outside, we take him every 20 minutes, and nope wont try outside.... you would think after two weeks the puppy would become more comfortable with us... all he does is sit in a corner and cower hardly eats or drinks just sits and cowers. have tried snuggling him showing him non stop love and nothing, he wont even eat a treat! i feel like we were lied to about how good of a puppy he is either that or other yelp and google reviews are accurate? If you type an opinion about this business they feel free to call you and lecture you on how to review negative experiences, then threaten legal action to have it removed. Stop calling me Angie. Thanks

Went to buy bird food and a sleeping tent as well. With Alberta's expensive prices on items in general, the prices of items in shop were pretty decent. The lady who helped me out was super friendly and seemed like she genuinely cared for the birds in store. She gave me some tips on how to get my birds to eat fruits and how to get them engaging with the tent I bought for them which was neat. The reviews from a few months/years ago say that it was a dirty place, but it looked pretty clean to me. The animals looked clean, the lady not working the counter was cleaning as I was browsing items, the store in general was clean. I admit I did check on the website to see if they had bird food. I didn't want to travel all the way to super store or calgary trail. They did also have a good selection as well as the play tent I had been meaning to buy for a while. The website is pretty accurate to what they have in store for the bird selection. Would come here again to buy more food for my birds as well as toys!

I am extremely disappointed and angry with Play Pen Pets. My father was in Edmonton on a work trip and picked up some food for my sugar glider. The price on the website for the glider complete is $22.99, my father without knowing paid $36.99. I called the store and the customer service was awful. The lady on the phone proceeded to tell me that the lady who was in charge of the website left the business a couple years ago..they did not update anything in two years. I have worked in customer service for a very long time and all of the businesses I have ever worked at honored the lower price if there were accidental false advertising. Overall, extremely poor service and ridiculous prices. Online prices from Exotic Nutrition are much cheaper.

It's an awesome store a little over priced on a few things but not many great quality

Goodluck trying to return your dead fish. I Recommand Petland where they actually give you your dead fish back. Their 10 days compare to Petland 30 days is just them trying to say we have a “return” policy but really, they don’t without extensive questioning. Goodness I just want the $25 dollar I wasted to come back to me with another fishes. Jeez not that that hard.
