We've been using Taramara Kennels almost monthly for over a year. The staff are great and very accommodating. My baby "Prins" likes to go there and he is always treated well. Very reasonable rates. I can highly recommend their services. Thanks guys and keep up the good work!

We take our 2 dogs quite often. The dogs don’t love it there but they are well treated. They handle our one dog that isn’t friendly well and our suck gets pets. We like that the dogs are separate from others

My cat, Schroedinger, was diagnosed with diabetes. This means that he needs an insulin injection every 12 hours. I went away last weekend so I dropped him off at Tarramara Kennels who offered insulin injections as part of the kennel fee. I told them to give him 3 units of insulin every 12 hours. I had to go to Edmonton last week so I extended his kennel stay. On Tuesday I went to to drop off extra food and needles. Schroedinger was showing signs of insulin overdose. He wasn't able to support himself lying on his stomach; he just flopped over on his side. I phoned the vet. They recommended that I put honey on his gums and bring him in if he didn't recover. The kennel attendant suggested that we give him more insulin, which shows she had no idea. We got him to eat some canned catfood by holding it to his mouth and he seemed better. I rushed home to get honey and his blood glucose monitor. When I got back, he seemed better, but his blood glucose was 4.3, the lowest I've ever measured. I asked the attendant to show me how she medicated him. She indicated that she was giving him 15 units, 5 times the dose I asked for. The next day I spoke with the owner. He told me that he knew nothing about giving cats insulin and my dose request was not put in the paperwork. I gave him a couple of days to investigate and ask him how the mixup happened and how it would be avoided in the future. He said he had no idea what happened and he would make no changes to prevent it from happening again. Based on how much insulin they used, he must have had 15 units everyday. I can't take him back there.
