I have to give a shout out to a dog boarding and daycare facility in Edmonton named “Its a dogs life” in Edmonton. After having concerns about two local kennels I went to this one. My dog came back a different dog from the two local kennels so much that she was terrified when I went to leave her at the new one. However when I picked her up today she was happy and made sure to go up to each employee to say goodbye on her own. My dog was back to her old self. At the two local kennels she was so anxious and could hardly contain herself to get out including just bypassing me to find a way out. All the other dogs were barking anxiously as if to have me rescue them form the small cages they were in. I have doubts that my dog had ever been let out for the whole week and she appeared to have lost a lot of weight. I will not name these kennels for liability reasons but I do caution anyone looking to board locally to be sure to check these kennels out thoroughly rather than rely on internet rating comments like I did. I will say the first kennel I used my dog was happy for the first six months but not after there was a change of personnel. It’s a dogs life is run in a truly professional and caring manner and it’s great to see my beautiful dog happy again. Be wary pet owners if you need to board out.

Picked up my pup after TWO nights here. I get home and she has cuts all over her tummy and drank an entire massive bowl of water. They also tried to charge me extra for “late pick up”, I picked her up on Friday night at 8pm because we got back earlier than expected. She was scheduled for Saturday morning. We agreed that early pick up was okay when we left as we were uncertain about when we would be back. I was told by reception when I called around 6 that there was a $3/hr fee if she was there after 12pm, even though they’re open until 8pm. I wasn’t informed of this and it doesn’t say anywhere other than the brochure that wasn’t given to me. When I asked where I would have seen that I was told it was “right on the front door” but I looked at the front door and it wasn’t posted anywhere. I was told play would be supervised as well, which clearly it wasn’t as my dog was cut up. No one even thought to mention it, and I was told she played great. This was her first ever time away from me and now I’m not sure if I’ll want to leave her again. Thanks guys, good work.

The groomer is excellent, my dog had a good experience with him. A HUGE thank you to Seth in the Grooming department. I've never seen anyone in other pet salons doing this better service with my dog than him. Overall they are a really good pet store you need to take your furry friend there.

Attempted to go here and stood at the front desk for a very long time and no one showed up. I then walked through the facility finding no one at all. Which was fine because once I saw and smelled the dirty conditions I wouldn’t have let my dog stay there anyway. I highly recommend See Spot Run instead.

I've only been taking my dog, Nix, to It's A Dog's Life for daycare for a few weeks, and so far our expensive l experience has been fantastic! They were very accommodating about booking the initial assessment, which was so helpful. I really appreciate that they're open until 8 pm during the week, as my schedule requires flexibility. The staff are really friendly, and have taken time to get to know Nix. Nix is having a great time - he especially loves playing in the pool. He's alwats tired and happy when I pick him up at the day!
