incredibly disappointed with Big Rock Labradoodles. this is how I saw this situation:
My family wanted to add another member to their family, but was refused due to a few reasons. My family had decided on a litter, only to find out they would have to wait for the next litter because the puppies in the first were all taken. They were fine with waiting, so they did. Paid the deposit and everything. My mum got an email from Alana saying that my family could take home a puppy from the first litter because there were two left, after being told the first litter was already full (unorganized, no?). My mum told Alana they'd wait for the next litter that was coming up very soon. They agreed to that, they were supposed to let my family know when the litter was born but then Big Rock fell off the face of the earth. I don't know, but to me it sounds like the breeder didn't like that my family wouldn't take the puppy that was offered (immature?).
My mother, worried, checked online, only to find out the puppies had been born on October 10th, and she didn't even get an update after being told she would!! So obviously my mother emailed them asking about the puppies and all that. After contacting profusely for 3 months, Alana told my mum she wasn't going to sell her the puppy anymore. Why? Because she's not comfortable talking with my mother because she doesn't feel that my mother could understand (just because English is her second language, you're just going to not talk to her?). And because she doesn't like that my brother was helping make decisions when the dog was mainly for him. My brother wanted a younger puppy, not a puppy that had grown out of their small puppy size. He wanted to raise a puppy from the start, not kind of from the start. If he wanted to a dog but didn't care about the age, he would've adopted one from the shelter.
To me, there are great levels of unprofessionalism. First you say one thing then completely go back on it, then you don't own up to the things you say?! In a business, you deal with different people on a daily. You are not allowed to call it quits just because you are having a hard time understanding someone.
Your slogan is "growing families since 2011", and you say "It's not just a pet. It's a family member" but you also talk as if they are just pets to sell. I understand the screening process to find good owners for your puppies, but declining because 'you felt they wouldn't understand what you needed to say' is a little immature. Seems more like you just didn't wanna have to deal with it. I've dealt with many breeders, but none as bad as this.
This review isn't going to be liked, I know, because they're not gonna like that it's someone younger than them telling them what they're doing wrong and all that. Big Rock talks all high and mighty, but most places that are conceited like that tend to not the best places to go to (statistics). But maybe do some management/business studying for future references lmao.
Anyways, just a heads-up to other families out there. No need for everyone else to go through a bad time.
