I worked here for less than two months and my entire experience consisted of poor communication and a complete lack of knowledge on how to care for certain animals. The neglect on the reptile side of things astonished me. In my time there I witnessed three entirely preventable deaths, but the worst came early on. Two dessert spiny lizards died due to the other staff not taking proper care, keeping them in far too cold a habitat and carelessly tossing far too many crickets in the small terrarium. The crickets would hide in the tanks, more would get thrown in, and eventually by the time it was my shift I would come in to find mountains of dead rotting crickets scattered about! They were not being eaten and still more would be put in. I brought the cricket issue up with the owner only to be greeted with an excuse of being ‘ too busy ‘ to tong feed the animals, which is a poor excuse when your animals are becoming sick due to stress and poor habitat conditions. I took the time to properly care for each lizard there, while the other staff members continued to treat them as if they were nothing more than products to sell. News flash — Animals are alive ! Treat them with the same respect you would want if you were caged up in a little box. I would not recommend buying your animals from this pet store. Especially the reptiles. I also would not recommend boarding or keeping your reptiles here for any length of time if you have to go away, as they treat them the exact same as the animals on the floor. Tossing mass amounts of crickets into their cages. They also did not understand proper lighting for specific reptiles. Displaying what only can be seen as a complete lack of caring and knowledge. They lost not only a dedicated and passionate worker, but more customers as well. Thanks for the opportunity to really experience how disgustingly neglectful pet stores can be.

Place is really dirty, owner clearly hates kids playing with her cat she leaves to roam around the store and kicked us out of her store. Good luck with your failing business!

I can't imagine going to any other pet store. Great selection of pet food and accessories. The staff are always ready to help answer any questions you may have. I adopted a Guinea pig from here 2 years ago, and to this day I still get compliments about his personality and relax temperament. Highly recommend Duncan Pets.
