Lynda Miller, Certified Pet Groomer

We have been following around Lynda for 7 years, with our golden retriever. Not only did she remember Sydney after not going for a couple of years, she remembered us. Lynda is bar none the best groomer in town. She can take awhile for an appointment but that is because she is the best. Our dog LOVES her! She does an excellent job and is wonderful with dogs. I am not sure why she would only be given 1 star??? Go to reviews oh her Facebook page all 5 stars. I know other people that go to Lynda too, and they love her. I am submitting this review because I was shocked to see a 1 star review and it's just not accurate.

I was a returning client from the previous year, and upon arrival for my apt (which was rescheduled from earlier in the month due to unchangeable circumstances) I had noted to Linda that it was really busy there that day. She identified the importance of not being able to re-book clients due to her busy schedule, after which I acknowledged this (this of course is understandable), and apologized for having to re-book and stated that I was appreciative of the re-booking. I explained it was not something I could have changed and that my reason for initially cancelling and re-booking took precedence (as sometimes life happens and rescheduling is necessary), but thanked her again. Anyway, I was shocked when her response was simply for me to "go to Petsmart" and that she was "offended" by my explanation of the rescheduling. i'm can't even make this up; I was pretty confused at first because I didn't understand what she was telling me, and thought she was joking, or that she wanted me to go wait at Petsmart while she groomed my cat. However, after stating I didn't understand, she then asked me to leave. So, I thanked her for her time and left. I'm pretty floored that this business owner would treat a (returning) client like this, especially after being booked and coming out for the apt. In my experience within professional settings, this would be completely unethical and anyone hoping to run a reputable business would never treat a customer like this - especially since there was no unreasonable or negative dialogue exchanged. I can't imagine being a business professional and be as reactive and unprofessional as this - I know that behaviour such as this would not be acceptable in any professional setting within which I've been employed. I'm still very confused and frustrated with the experience, and don't believe she should be allowed to run a business like this. As such, I'm sure she is very good at her grooming job, but clearly has no idea how to be a reputable business-woman. I am currently in discussion with the city on this issue, but in the meantime, I really wanted to share my experience with any potential clients. You better think twice about booking here, in case you have a sudden family emergency or you need to go into work (to pay your bills).
