Our Sheepadoodle, Otis, has his first grooming at Dog Utopia today. Thanks to the helpful tips prior to his visit and help training him to be comfortable with techniques used at the salon as well as getting him used to sounds at home, he did very well! It is so comforting to know all of the staff truly care about the well being of the dogs psychologically as well as physically. They provided an accurate estimate of time and cost and Otis was very happy when I arrived. So glad I found Dog Utopia!!!!

The most amazing daycare and grooming I have ever been to! All the staff are so caring and careful with the dogs. My dog knows when it’s a daycare day and is always excited to go there. The groomers always do a great job of bathing and trimming my girl. Great staff, great environment and great prices.

Do not take your Cairn Terrier here as they have no idea how to groom them. My dog came out with a schnauzer cut. Hopefully they haven’t ruined her coat.

I took my dog in for her first grooming and right as I entered I had a bad feeling from the way the front desk greeted me. She (woman with very short hair) sort of looked at me and didn’t say anything until I said “Hi, I’m here for Xena’s (my dog) grooming. She then proceeded to call the groomer in the back room. The groomer lady was nice and greeted my dog and I. She asked me how I wanted my dog groomed. I have a dachshund mix dog. She has one layer of fur coat. Her coat is soft but medium length, not the typical long haired or short haired dachshund. I asked them to cut the fur shorter, just so she looks neat and not scruffy. Maybe they did not have experience with this type of dog or whatever so they told me that they won’t be cutting her hair short because they “don’t know if it will grow back...” Right off the bet I was like “really? It won’t grow back, like are you serious?” They are like “yea it’s a 50/50% chance that her hair will grow back, so we will just trim a little with thinning shears. So I am like whatever these people are professionals they know what they are doing. An hour and half later they call me back to let me know what Xena is ready to get picked up and she’s all done getting groomed. I get there and they give me my dog and she looks no different than when I dropped her an hour and half ago. Maybe just a little clean because she got a bath. The hairs on her ears were trimmed and some of the hairs on her butt too. Her nails looked the same just shorter and not filed. They groomer lady told me that Xena was great but just a little nervous of her surroundings so they weren’t able to cut her hair complitely... I didn’t say anything because it was also my first time at the groomers. When I got home I noticed that the groomer only spent about half hour on her. Because she was only bathed, hair were trimmed sloppily, and nails cut horribly. I would never go to this place again. I don’t think they have experience for the amount they are charging.
