Critters is an amazing store especially because it is a rather small place. They have been in business for decades and never have they charged a ridiculous price for anything. They also do wing and nail clipping for small and large birds. Just call to make sure the guy that takes care of the big birds is there before you bring your large bird in. They have all kinds of animals for purchase. If you have something specific in mind just call them and ask if they have it. If they don't they will find it and have it brought in for you. As long as it is legal and available.

Previously, my boyfriend Chase posted a 1 star review here, claiming that we were forced to pay for a vet bill for a pet that we bought there at Critters, among other things. I want to start by saying that we were not made to, the owners of Critters did offer to trade our Chinchilla out with a new one. However, he was the family favorite of the two chins we bought, so tiny and cute, and didn’t resist being held at all. Our other (Flower) is lovely as well, but likes to play more than to cuddle. My daughter bonded very closely with Cloud and he seemed to enjoy her as well. I couldn’t break her heart by returning him. So, we took him to the vet for his missing toe. At that point it was pretty much healed, but there was some infection, which required antibiotics. While we were there, the vet recommended we use a flat bottom cage, that it was possible the missing toe may have been caused by a wire cage. I went out and got a flat bottom cage, using the bedding I got from Critters. So everything went well and Cloud healed up fine. Last Thursday, he passed away pretty suddenly. Katrina got Cloud out to tell him good night and horrifyingly, found him incapacitated with a piece of bile-covered bedding in his throat. I pulled the bedding out but he continued to convulse in my hands. My immediate thought was that there must be more in his throat and he was choking on his bedding. We rushed to the emergency vet, but ultimately didn’t get there fast enough. When I was on the phone with the EV, I told them what was going on and they told me Chinchillas don’t have a gag reflex, and should never come in contact with corn cob bedding. I was angry because I was sure the bedding was to blame, and I thought, “Why the f*** would the pet store sell that if it was known to kill them?” I came to Critters to try to appeal, and they weren’t very happy with the review that Chase had left. They didn’t want to talk, only kept stating that they tried to replace the Chinchilla, and told me I should’ve used the cages they sell. They insisted he didn’t die from the bedding, and asked if I’d gotten an autopsy. At the time I hadn’t. I was so upset and determined, I went and got an autopsy to prove them wrong. Imagine my surprise when the Vet called and told me he didn’t die from the bedding. I’m writing this as an apology, for the false accusation of negligence on their part, and for the false review that Chase wrote. I hope that Critters can be compassionate and acknowledge how hurt we were, seeing our daughter have to go through the traumatic experience and have her heart broken. I hope that they understand that the situation was pretty emotional and as humans we needed someone to blame. I’m sorry that we put the blame on you guys. You were right, he didn’t die from the bedding. The autopsy suggests that it was something congenital. Without hundreds more dollars they can’t tell what exactly it was that failed, but the vet said her best guess was “Congenital Disease” Senior owner of Critter Corner, I would like to talk to you on the phone, in a compassionate manner, one on one, please. I would have prefered to apologize in person but I don’t think you guys would welcome my face in the store as of late. I’d like to make amends and be a returning customer. I’ll call in a couple of days if I don’t hear back from you here sooner. Thank you for your time, Brianna Pittman, Crying Chinchilla Lady
