Gateway played a significant role in helping us through our grieving process by offering the private viewing option. There are very few pet crematoriums in the Toronto area that allow pet owners to view their pets going into (and out of) the cremation chamber. I was not at all satisfied with other crematoriums' promise alone that I'd be getting my rabbit's - and only my rabbit's - cremains back. The lady at the Scarborough location (I'm sorry for forgetting her name), was extremely professional, supportive and understanding throughout the entire process. I would recommend Gateway to any pet owner who wants peace of mind when choosing to have their pet privately cremated.

I was petrified of taking my puppy to a company that wouldn't respect or care for him. There was a fear of what would go on "behind the scenes". Gateway gave me and my family everything we could have asked for and more. The private viewing option and private cremation were the deciding factors. When we arrived, we met with Stephen who explained the process. When we were ready, he brought our baby into the private viewing room. It was incredibly emotional, but seeing the way he was laying in a beautiful bed, beneath a blanket, peaceful... it helped to give us some closure. We could spend as much time as we wanted with him. When we were ready, Stephen gave us the option of following him into the facility. I will never forgot how gently he picked Mickey up and cradled him- it was as though Mickey were his own. My family and I are eternally grateful to Stephen and to Gateway.

I said goodbye to my Springer ON Monday July 9. On Thursday July 12 was his cremation. Gateway was organized through my vet and i could not be more thankful. They contacted me first thing on July 10 to let me know what was happening with my dog's remain and what the next steps would be. I was able to say a final goodbye surrounded by family and friends as Springer laid peacefully on a pretty blanket. I was also help carry him towards his last journey, one of that I cannot take with him. I'm sorry I don't remember the gentlemen's name (Scott or James?) that helped but I wish I did. I met his dog Jane who gave me a nice "it's ok you're Springer loved you" moment. I have very grateful to the staff at Gateway for giving me some closure and helping my friends, family and me through this difficult lost. Love you always Springer.
