I picked my dog Walter up last Saturday after leaving him there for 6 days while I went on vacation and had to take him the same day to the veterinary emergency hospital. I was told Walter was affectionate and enjoyed going on his trail walk every day. I was told about no other issues or concerns. He seemed happy to see me but maybe not as energetic as usual. As I was putting him in the car I noticed he seemed very red. His eyes and ears were beet red, his paws looked red and swollen, the extent of which I'd better see once we got home. When I got home I could see the bottoms of all four of his paws between his pads and toes had sores, some with blood, some already scabbing. They were extremely swollen. His nose was dry, and I saw that his belly was also red like his ears and eyes. He seemed almost depressed, preferring to lay down, and not eating or drinking despite that he only ate about half his food at the kennel. When I took him out to pee he went immediately back inside of his own accord after, which is very out of character unless it's the middle of winter or raining- which it wasn't. I couldn't get him in to see his vet that day as they closed early and were booked up so I took him to the emergency vets, he just laid in my lap the entire time when normally he's up trying to look out the window. I was told by the vet that he had inter digital dermatitis on all four of his paws, that his lymph nodes were swollen. She pointed out areas of his paws that had bleeding, scabs and pus. He'd also, I noticed when they weighed him, lost 5 lbs or 20% of his body weight. She prescribed pain killers, steroids, and antibiotics, and advised me to not walk him on hard surfaces and take him out only for short intervals on grass until his paws healed. She said usually she sees this as an allergic reaction to food, but it could be environmental as well. So I called Country Paws and they emailed me a list of ingredients for the treats I ordered for him which was helpful- but the woman I spoke to also said something that really bothered me. She said after checking their records, the only thing they noticed was the day before I got him that his eyes were red, and that must have been the START of the reaction. No. His paws had already started to form scabs in places, and they were so swollen. He was having this reaction for at least a few days. Now I want to make it clear I'm not giving a one star review because he had a reaction. That could have happened at home, or anywhere. But they should have noticed something was wrong. They should have called, they should have taken him to see a vet. And there is no way he was going on trail walks on paws in that condition, so either they lied or he was in pain the entire time. Huge fail on their part and I would never leave a pet in their care again.

Our big old pup Bruce always has the best time when he stays over at country paws! Can't even be bothered to say goodbye when we drop him off, he's so excited to get outside and get playing with the other puppers! He always returns to us exhausted with happiness . The staff are friendly and always make us feel at ease when dropping him off. Pick up is fast and easy, so you can get straight to petting your furry friend right away. If you love your dog you will take them to country paws.

My dog had a daycare experience with the saltwater pool add-on. He was super nervous so we decided to put him in "The House" so he would feel more comfortable. He was a rescue so a kennel atmosphere really stressed him out during our free tour. He came back very tired and it seemed like he had fun. Cant wait to take him back again! Thanks Country Paws!

Super kind, knowledgable, friendly staff. My pooches love coming here! Last visit I was moving and was feeling behind schedule so I added two days onto my dog's stay the day I was supposed to pick him up; Country Paws was super accommodating, which was a relief during an already stressful time.

I always take my dog to "the house" not the kennel. It is fantastic ! By far the best place I have taken my dog. Whether day care or overnight they treat the dogs amazingly and you can tell they really care about your pet.
