Hillside Kennels is a disgrace. Twice now they have taken my family's cat and extorted us to pay to get her back. My cat has a microchip, when we got the microchip we were told that if our cat is picked up they will scan the chip, call us and bring the cat home. Twice now they have picked her up, took her to the Kennel, then called us to go get her and pay $150 to get her back. When I called and told them they made a mistake and need to bring me my cat back at no charge, I got nothing but attitude and excuses. The people operating this place have no clue how to run a business, how to talk to people or how to do their job. When we went to pick the cat up you can see the terrible conditions the place is in, and all the animals in the back are barking and whining and just unhappy. They ask you to pay cash so they don't have to report their income to the cra. They take animals off private properties they have no business being on in the first place, then they extort you for the money. I don't know how these people can do this stuff and not be ashamed of themselves. Hillside Kennels is a complete joke and a terrible business. I will be doing everything I can to see them suffer and with any luck get shut down.

Had the most pleasant experience with Hillside. From the first interaction to the last. They helped me with a lost little kitty and even called me back to update me that they found her home. I’m grateful for what they do for lost, stolen or forgotten pets. Much respect.

This place is odd. I’m thankful my dog who was picked up for a night after getting loose was ok. Though after I got him in my vehicle (he was at the shelter for about a day), he had bites on his head, marks/scratches on his snout/nose, was COVERED in poop, and so thirsty he drank over 3 bottles of water until he puked. He also ate like I’ve never seen before so what was the 120$ for? As clearly they aren’t providing basic necessities. Also, if you ever lose your dog, listen to the voicemail and call the number posted for “if you have found an injured animal call _____”, because their main number listed no one answers. Called from different numbers, left messages, emails = no replies. Funny because as I pulled up, there were 4+ cars in the driveway? So is this place not supervised? There’s a trailer on site that I’m guessing these people just hangout in - separate to the building they house dogs inside (very safe lol). The lady was very weird, she arrived by car seconds after I did, went to the door and said “give me a moment”, closed it, then let me enter after a few minutes? What is going on in there? Why so secretive? I’m picking up my dog and you close the door in my face to do what? Easily over 10 + dogs freaking out.. she went to go get my dog, and I snuck around the corner fast and it’s just like an overstock place for the SPCA - that looks like a zoo. No conversation as to how my dog was, where he was found, or having to prove he was mine with tags. She just said “cash or card”… So if anybody wants a dog you can go here pay $120 cash and take any dog you see on their Facebook page! Great system. Needs to be investigated. My dog is still not acting like himself, and based on these reviews of them “stealing dogs of country properties”, I’m pretty sure that’s the case for my pet. Very unusual for him and very strange experience overall. I get it’s challenging running a business, but something is shady about this one. They don’t seem to care for animals, just house them.. like a dog jail. Except in jail; you get basic necessities.. (I’m a CO and I’m not kidding when I say criminals have it better off than these poor pups.)

Wow the worker that rescues animals was a God sent. Nicest lady in the whole world her passion for animals far extends beliefs. I was so blessed to meet her an I felt great to know the animal was in her care thank you so much. 💓 I am a big guy that kind of looks scary but I love animals so much and this lady knew right away.

We adopted a stray from Hillside almost 4 years ago. Kaylee was just 3 1/2 months old when she was found. They made sure she was cleaned up and healthy, and when we went to meet her, she was so happy and spoiled. I'm so grateful to Hillside for taking care of our little furbaby and giving her a fresh start to her young life. She's still spoiled, happy and healthy today 😊
