Mike is very knowledgeable about what he does. Extremely helpful and very pleasant. Lots of great healthy fish. Kids love going there and so do I. Thank you Mike for all the help and advise setting up our tank

I hate liars, and that is what you will find here. I gave him two stars because the store has nice fish, is relatively clean and the man is knowledgeable. I few parlour tricks with the fish showed that they were healthy, but I wasn't buying for a second they only responded to him. I tried it and they responded the same to me. We wanted to buy a setup for our son. We have zero fish knowledge. We needed an aquarium. His 10gal setup was 89 bucks. I knew it was a bit expensive, but I will often spend an 10-20% on things for local knowledge and good aftercare. I quick check revealed the EXACT tank at Walmart for $30 less. A 60%price difference was close, and I considered it, but still too much. This is when I decided I will NEVER shop at this store again. When I asked about the price difference he swore it was his cost and that the Walmart tank (same box and part number) was somehow inferior. I then mentioned perhaps we would search out a used one and still come back and buy the fish there because he seemed like a nice guy and had some good fish, and he was local. He then went off about something, very rudely and I realized I was done. My advise. Ditch the tanks buddy. If you are actually paying too much for them, which I doubt you are, they are losing you customers. You know your fish, you seem to genuinely care about them, so stop being a douchebag and sell some fish.

This owner not only has better fish but it's like a circus. Ask him to feed his fish and they all come to him. He also gets some really cool fish in at times. Fish we never heard of like his famous glow in the dark ones. He is the best source for fish and knows his stuff. If he does not have what you want... He can get it for you on request. He is friendly and non scripted. Everytime I go in he greats me and my children. He educates us all and gives my kids a tour of all fish even if I'm there to buy a beta. The deals are great. Only place I will go for all my fish needs. ❤💙💚💛💜

Aquarium Kingdom is a small hobby shop. If you don't know anything about aquariums or keeping fish, you might have a happy experience here. The owner will tell you the same story about a customer who lives on the east coast purchased plants and API nutrients from the owner because they don't sell API products in eastern Canada. Even if this was the case, Amazon will ship to your door. The prices are TERRIBLE! Anything without a price, like live plants, the owner says to give him a price but don't insult him. One day I went in and asked about his red tiger lotus plants. He claimed he spent over $40 per plant to have them shipped from Thailand. The tiger lotus is native to Africa so I have no idea why... nevermind. Big Al's fish store in Whitby was selling red tiger lotus in 3 bunches for $15. Oh, the owner of Aquarium Kingdom was previously a manager at a Big Al's location for over 10 years. Honestly, if you just need to get some fish flakes or something insignificant, go to Aquarium Kingdom. If you need livestock or plants and don't mind a bit of a drive, I'd highly recommend going to Big Al's instead. You'll spend $10-$15 in gas, but the savings on purchases more than make up for the drive. I'm not one to give poor reviews needlessly. Don't let him trick you. Do your research. :)

just moved to the city. My daughter (seven year old) and i had just put our dog down, so we decided to get fish. The owner, Mike, dropped what he was doing and walked us through everything we would need making jokes the whole time. He even walked my daughter around by the hand showing her the fish, and even showed her that fish would follow her finger across a tank! It was the first time she'd smiled all day! Mike is an extremely knowledgeable individual, who takes the time to help out people who really want to know about fish. I've read the other reviews, however I believe them to be unfair. Like anyone, he deals out respect when it's given to him. I would wholly recommend this business over any other to every family in the area. Just pop in and make time to chat. Treat him like a normal professional, and enjoy a great time!
