The staff at Markham Cat Adoption & Education Centre helped us with our newest addition to our family, which I am so grateful for. Jessica, in particular, was very helpful in answering all of our questions. We had the chance to spend some time with the cat in the closed off area before we made up our minds. The adoption process was very simple and straightforward. I would definitely recommend this place!

I love the adoption center here. They have a program where kids can read to the cats, which helps give the kids confidence in their reading skills and helps socialize the cats. We adopted a 13 year old cat from here and we are sooo happy we did. Great program and great adoption center.

I want to give it negative!! Horrible staff!! We were asked to leave because we made the staff UNCOMFORTABLE, because we asked several questions about a cat's health issue we really cared about in a polite way and that made her UNCOMFORTABLE, because we didn't speak English with each other and "that's an issue to her, making her UNCOMFORTABLE". She said she was the boss and had the right to let us go. She called another guy working in the community center to support her that she had the right to let us leave because we made her UNCOMFORTABLE. After we insisted we had the right to get inside, the community guy gave in and said she was just an employee working for SPCA (not the boss she tried to impress us) and she didn't have the right to not to let us in. LOL... what a drama! Sarcastically a cat adoption center staff who is not honest and genuien, who is cold and arrogant treated potential adopter like this, how can I believe they treat cats well?! I read all the other reviews and believe all the positive comments, I hope this is a very rare case only happening to me, meantime I believe she doesn't like the other people whose race is different from hers. I feel pathetic for SPCA to hire such an unbelievable employee. I'll mind my future donation to them. The incident happened on March 16, 2018 from 12:50pm-1:30pm.

The staff were first rate and friendly. It was a pleasure to deal with them. Two weeks ago we adopted two cats (we named Nero and Archie) from them, and we have posted three photos clearly showing both their impishness and how completely comfortable they are today ... er, the cats, I mean, not the staff!
