We have a regular groomer that we take our Pomeranian Shitzu to for his appointments. Due to unforeseen circumstances we weren’t able to take him to his regular groomer, and we were in a pinch to have his fur cut because it was becoming to be too warm for him, and it was bothering him when he had to go to the bathroom. I called and was able to get an appointment immediately so in we went. Our puppy was there from approximately 9:45am-12:30pm. His appointment lasted nearly three hours and I had to call to follow up and check if he was finished. I was told our puppy was ready to be picked up, I went in, paid for his appointment and we were on our way. It wasn’t until he was in my lap in the car that I saw his nail had been cut so badly that he was bleeding profusely and was never told about this. I got home and called the store immediately and was told to put his paw into flour. I was reluctant and called our veterinarian to see if this was a feasible option, and was told if I had done that, we could run the risk of infection. I was able to get him to the vet and was given a cream to stop the bleeding. I was never offered an apology and was quickly dismissed when I called to mention what happened to our puppy. Lesson was learned today, we won’t be returning.

Andrea did a fantastic groom on both of my dogs. She cut them exactly the way I asked and did a beautiful job. But more importantly, the dogs were comfortable with her and weren't stressed out. I did a lot of research to find a good groomer before I chose Paws with Us. While there are lots of groomers out there, being able to groom a dog is only part of the skills required. The groomer has to be able to make the dog feel comfortable and relaxed so that the experience isn't traumatizing for them. And I could tell the minute I saw them that they had a good experience. I will definitely be recommending Andrea to people!

I have been bringing my miniature poodle to Paws with Us since I adopted him mid-2014, and Lorraine (the owner) had been working with him with his previous owner as well. Every cut has come out amazing, you can clearly see how much she cares for each dog she works with. As an older dog he needs a little more attention than some other dogs, and has always been treated amazingly well at Paws with Us. I've been recommending them to everyone since I moved to Oakville.
