I can’t rate the full adoption process but I will rate the attempts at contacting them. My wife and I wanted to adopt a puppy and phone calls aren’t returned or answered and the online application form didn’t get anywhere. Very disappointed in their communication or lack thereof. Hard to adopt and animal when the place doesn’t even respond to potential adopters

This is THE place to go if you are looking for a rescued dog in the Oshawa Durham area. Run by amazing and dedicated people. Follow them on Facebook.

Very disappointing experience. My family’s application was approved by TAGS and we had a meet and greet that went very well. We were assured from day one that living in an apartment wasn’t an issue. We then had a home visit where the home visit volunteer, Lesia, declined us for the sole reason that we live in an apartment. Lesia was also subtly rude throughout the meeting and continuously interrupted everyone who spoke. It was clear she did not come in with an open mind. This was an unfair and cruel decision on her part, especially considering TAGS approved our application for that specific puppy knowing that we live in an apartment. This experience has put a very bad taste in our mouths and we feel we do not have it in us to go through a process like this again. We spent nearly four weeks on this process, only to be declined for a reason that we were transparent about from the beginning. It was a waste of time for my family and for the other volunteers. This home visit volunteer needs to be talked to. However, the other volunteers we were working with were amazing and kind!

These guys are absolutely amazing! We adopted a dog through them and they have have gone above and beyond every step of the way. They even provide dog training as part of their adoption fee!
