I’ve always received such excellent service here. I take my cat to get shaved since his hair grows cute long and I can tell he gets very uncomfortable. Groomingdales doesn’t mind me coming behind the gate so that I can comfort my cat as he gets shaved. They don’t give him any paw guards or any face masks. They are gentle but firm. Always respectful. I have nothing but love for them. My cat also appreciate them as well.

It was my havanese puppy's first haircut. I was nervous about leaving her and there was very little reassurance from staff. I came to pick her up and was not impressed by what I saw of the place. There was hair all over the floor and it was all different colours and consistencies from numerous different dogs, never once in the 15 minutes that I was there did I see either staff member pet or speak to any of the dogs that they were grooming, and there were cages stacked in the back room one of which had a dog in it with some sort of dryer aimed at the crate. My dog uses her crate as a safe place so this made me anxious as to how they treated my puppy when she was in their care. I went home only to discover dried blood on her white paw from a nail that had been cut way too short. I brought her back to the groomers to show this to them and was very unhappy that not only had she been bleeding and cut on her first visit but I had not been told. Despite my argument, no discount or refund of any kind was provided. I did not get the feeling that dogs were well cared for and loved during their grooming experience and they don't go out of their way to do anything special (ie bows). The haircut itself was done how I had asked, but I just didn't feel that my pup was well taken care of while there.

I would give it zero stars if I could. I brought my American bulldog here to cut her nails. The woman who was doing it was hurting her and cut her toe. She did not care at all about how the dog felt. I will never ever take my dog to a barbaric place like this.

I go here to get my dogs nails cut all the time even though I have a place across the street from me because Groomingdales is more professional, kind and gentle it is worth the extra drive.
