Great local pet shop that sells to be equipped for owners of any topical household pet, big or small. Staff is helpful and friendly and prices are as I'd expect for a major chain of stores - you could probably find most of this stuff cheaper online. The dog wash station is probably the best thing about any Pet Valu. It's way easier than wrestling with your dog in the tub at home.

There's a house kitty that is very sweet. Everytime I come in, at least two different people ask if I need help finding anything, even though all I ever buy is cat food and litter.

Store is alright, the self serve dog wash drains very slowly, he was standing in about 2 inches of water which made his footing slipperly despite clearing the drain constantly. If they fixed the drain issue and put some kind of traction coating so the dogs don't slip it would be much better. Bringing my own shampoo etc next time also as it's way too watered down to get a proper lather

I love shopping here for my cat named Clyde

Very helpful, friendly staff - had a very pleasant experience. A person with short brunette hair / a dangly earring and a person with a long blonde ponytail helped me - they were both very knowledgeable and I was in and out of there quick! They used gender neutral pronouns - which I appreciate as a trans person because I’m always called “ma’am” in customer service environments. This made for a very comfortable shopping experience. My dog got a dried liver treat at cash too which was a bonus. Will definitely shop there again!
