For well over a decade maybe two, this organization has been gathering money for a new building. The building fund has been as high as $60K, and last I could find numbers on their website was down to $20 Now they have outdated information, from 2009. There's no accountability or financial reports done for the public to see. They lost their ability to act in animal cruelty cases. They have cats stacked in an old trailer and from what I've been told smells horrible. They do not return phone calls. They keep getting donations, yet never move forward. We have zero services for dogs in Norfolk County, as this place is totally focused on personal hoards of cats. We need a decent society that will actually move forward and act in the best interest of all animals.

Couple of days ago, I was having a conversation with my next door neighbor after returning from work. Suddenly a stray cat came up and started meowing. I gave her some of my left over lunch. I couldn't see her plight as she was quite beaten up and skinny. Next day took some advice, called District Humane Society. Cathy brought the cage to my place immediately. Within 3 days I could get the cat in to the shelter. Kathy was there to help me all along. Such a wonderful lady . She let me in the trailer and it was neat and clean. She explained to me everything and promised to keep me posted. Thanks guys for doing a wonderful job. God bless you guys. Regards Ratnam

Very disorganized, not everyone has the time to waste waiting for people to get stuff together. Improper time management and the decency to provide this information to customers. Seems like Kathy doesn't care that much...

I took my cats to get fixed there and microchipped my cat was deemed healthy cat in feb 2018 and then 3 weeks later he started to look not right and then he started getting sicker and sicker and finally had to put him down may 12 2018 after meds and vitamins and vet visits come to find out my cat isn’t the only cat that has died from same thing from same place also to find out they had my cat and other cats around a sick cat which should have been isolated I want to be paid back all the money I have spent on my cat from there neglect of not separating the sick cat they also seem to think they are vets and far from it tried to tell me more less my vet didn’t know what he was talking about that is funny lol I wouldn’t recommend getting a cat there or taking a cat there after this I will never go back there it smelt so bad in there of urine and stuff cages need to be cleaned more and they didn’t have very much food in cages and the cages are small no way for a cat to live it made me sick seeing it and smelling what they live In

Small; Under funded; But; The staff really care about animals and they do the best they can, under the circumstances.
