I would like to start off saying that 1 star is 1 too many stars. I guess I asked too many questions that it annoyed the owner, such as seeing the place BEFORE booking, why she does not ask the dog's temperment or whether he or she is spayed of neutered. Her reasoning was she has a lot of years experiemce and will keep notes in the dogs file. Now tell me this, if they are accwpting dogs without assessing them then maybe your dog will be caged right beside a misbehaved dog and stress your dog too. Basic questions annoyed her because I would not just book it before seeing it. I am sorry but I rather see where my dog may go overnight rather then book. She told me this "thanks for your interest but I just got off the phobe with a long time client who reserved our last spot. We are a small kennell". Best of all she claims she is a vet. That is a lie! She is a vet tech and claims to have a 24 hour vet. I did a little digging as it started getting sketchy by the fact ahe does not care I care for my dog which makes me believe she will not care.

Our Shiz tui was dropped off at this kennel in December 2009 and picked up two weeks later. When he was dropped off it weighed 17lbs when he was picked up he was 14lbs. The place where we picked him up was like a dark barn - I have no idea what happened to our dog, but his rear end was shaved and the skin was completely broken down. I suspect he was sitting in diarrhea for the entire time we were away. I took my dog to the vet and $400 later he was placed on a special diet to help him gain weight and bind his stool. I had to take a week off work to hand feed him. This place should never take any animal, since this experience I have never kenneled my dog again. We now pay sitters to come into our home and stay with our dogs. If I could give this kennel 0 stars I would.

At the advice of friends who are experienced dog owners and breeders, we have been taking our pet to Serenade Kennels for years. We have had nothing but excellent experience with them. Our dog is well fed and healthy upon our return from trips of short and long duration, and upon return from our most recent trip was freshly washed and in great spirits. This time, before dropping off our dog we had had a bit of a health scare (the dog is 14 years old) but when we picked him up he was in better condition than when we left him. The only other kennel we had used before Serenade was the breeder from which we got the dog. That kennel had actually lost our dog on one occasion and our dog came back with kennel cough on another occasion. We have had no such negative experiences with Serenade and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Awful. I was stuck and had no choice but to use this place. The owner wouldn't even let me look at where my two dogs would be sleeping saying "it would disturb the other dogs if you went in there". I was truly stuck and couldn't argue. My two dogs were picked up after a 2 day visit. They smelled strongly of urine and we had to give them baths. My first dog got sick a day later and had diarrhea for 3 days. My second dog followed a week later. Neither have ever been sick before in their lives. They don't walk your dog - they just let it have a turn going into an open area. Advice: Visit this place in advance and look around. Insist on seeing the kennel thoroughly. Visit other kennels in person and compare Ask about walking and playing time Don't do what I did.

Have dropped off my Doberman here for the last five years when I'm out of town. He's always super excited when we check in and has never looked back when I give them his leash.
