I hired A&M Basement Waterproofing (Anthony Muscat, 586-864-2090) in August 2026 for a sewer pipe repair in the Waterford, MI area.Invoice total: $2,800.What was actually done according to the invoice: located a leak at the elbow going into the wall, removed a section of 4" pipe, rebuilt the stack, and added a new cleanout with a 5-year warranty on parts and labor. From what I observed on site, the work consisted of replacing a few PVC fittings and one black rubber coupling. Materials were clearly under $200, and one person completed the physical work in approximately 30 minutes. No detailed written quote or itemized breakdown was provided beforehand. Given the actual scope of work and material cost, the $2,800 charge is far beyond reasonable for the job performed.I have already paid in full. Sharing this experience so others can make a more informed decision. Always get multiple written quotes with clear scope and pricing before hiring.

RIP-OFF

When you hire someone, you need to make sure they really care about you rather than just their paycheck. Anthony only cares about his paycheck. He did a quick, mediocre inspection and then couldn't wait to charge my clients. There are better options out there.

I highly recommend Anthony Muscat for his professionalism and good work ethic. He arrived at the agreed upon time, proceeded to review the work to be done and offered a highly competitive quote. He arrived on the agreed upon time and date and proceeded to expertly complete the work in the manner prescribed. Should you find a need for waterproofing services and crack repair I don't believe you will find a more integrate or experienced company or caring individual. " Highly recommended !"

Excellent work, very timely repair, extremely personable, we really can't say enough good things about this company. Called a&m because of reviews, and I agree that this company just stands out in a very good way.. if you want someone who does an excellent job with a lifetime warranty on repairs and actually cares about the customers give these guys a call, you will not be sorry, guaranteed.

Anthony responded to my inquiry in a timely manner, bonus points right there, since it seems so hard to hear back from many businesses these days. He was punctual and the work looks great. Thanks Anthony.

Anthony was very professional and I felt he was honest and sincere with all of his suggestions and solutions. The price was extremely affordable compared to other companies and he did a great job and a timely manner! I interviewed two other top rated companies in the area and this company stood out, hands down compared to them!
