They allow big businesses to push workers around. They don't protect workers by making employers accountable by divulging if the job is seasonal or very short term. Some people have quit a lower paying job hoping to have a new future at a higher paying job just to find out they fly you out to train you and work you hard(which is ok) but lay you off(after only a week) PRHP IN BC is the place so beware!.. They PRHP says winter is coming(it's early September in BC) and the area is now closed...the employer doesn't divulge that information upon hiring(that they close areas early)...if they did many workers wouldn't even try to go because it's fruitless just like this clac union...this union should make employers responsible in divulging this information at the very beginning prior to hiring so the worker has a choice to go or not!!!!!..SHAME ON YOU CLAC UNION.

If 0 stars was an option, I would have chose 0/5. Our CLAC rep signed a document on the workers' behalf (without officially notifying us or asking the workers' opinion) with out management and the result was a loss of income for the workers. Each worker pays roughly $1200 a year in union dues - it's good to see that money is going to good use. Absolutely disgraceful.

This union takes your money but that's all it can be counted on for. When you go to them with a grievance they do NOTHING but passify you. They are too gutless to face management and protect your rights. We have had workers file complaints with the labor board because CLAC sat on their hands. If you're a group looking for a union skip CLAC they do NOT respresent you as a worker, they kiss the companies ass while stealing your cash.

Clac is NOT a union, it is an association. And it is a very management friendly association that undermines the struggles of real union members that constantly put their livelihoods on the line to better the working conditions employee's everywhere.
