An excellent place to get expertise for being a landlord here in Calgary. It is great they provide documentation and monthly seminars so landlords can prepare for tenancies. It is great they update the agreements to accommodate changes such as the new cannabis laws.

This organization is totally biased against Calgary renters including those in subsidized housing. Gerry Baxter is vehemently against rent controls or allowing family friendly rental suites as proposed by Premier Rachel Notley. It's people like Mr. Baxter that will leave i.e. middle class single mothers and families in perpetual need of 21st Century corporate style subsidized housing agencies. The C.R.R.A. has jumped on the non-profit bandwagon by holding seminars for Social Housing Agencies in Calgary about the Residential Tenancies Act etc. Mr. Baxter is feeding from multiple funding troughs, that being, Private Landlords, Non Profit Housing Agencies Membership fees, registration fees for seminars and his non-profit agency status.

I recently completed the Residential Tenancies In Alberta course offered by The Calgary Residential Rental Association. The course led by Gerry was very informative and I now have an increased knowledge base and am more confident in my abilities to provide tenants with quality housing while protecting myself from liabilities. Thanks and I hope to participate in more of your offered courses. M.P.Bala
