So if you are offered 30 dollars per hour you only actually take home 25 dollars per hour minus your union dues and taxes. They will also keep you as a non member as long as possible because you pay substantially higher so called "union dues" than an actual member. Some people remain non members for months or even YEARS They will come to your job site to get you to join them, they dont care about you or your familys best intrest, they simply want to keep themselves paid every week by collecting more people to pay "union dues" They will bring food and other cheap crap to sway your decision to join, you need to ask yourself who paid for that food ? The answer is: THE MEMBERS THAT ARE SITTING AT HOME ON E.I Unions were needed in the past to protect the average worker mostly in other country's besides canada. The days of Jimmy Hoffa and the teamsters are ancient history, which by the way were controlled by the MAFIA. Today unions are not needed especially is Canada because we have a federal government entity called LABOR STANDARDS AND HUMAN SERVICES which is FREE , STRONGER and has your best intrests as a worker in mind because they are unbiased and have no financial intrest in You!!! If you are shorted hours or dont get paid this is who the 725 will tell you to call. I hope you as an individual can see through a hoody with a skull and a number on it WHICH THE MEMBERS PAY FOR AND ARE VERY EXPENSIVE ! This is for your education please remember NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FREE I want to educate young and foreighn workers and let them know that there wallets and bank accounts will thank them for not spending money to work. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY SOMEONE TO WORK IN CANADA. Unions only protect the the small group in the office . DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
