I didn't find the atmosphere or staff to be very professional. The furnishings are old and warn down (it's called paint) and this just doesn't foster feeling good about ones self. As well the staff repeatedly grabbed and hugged me without asking - personal space is a pretty basic concept that multiple staff there seemed to have no knowledge of. They seemed unprepared to deal with the emotional hardship someone could go through when transitioning to live away from everything they know for so long. I don't believe there counsellors have attended school for that field for any significant length of time - they are more of just a friend to talk to. While I am sure this place has benefited many, I find myself questioning the motives of it's operation (money?). I don't believe anyone would "self-pay" to be there and they mainly cater to ministry clients - who in my opinion still are deserving of better recovery & treatment services.

Life recovery saved my life and I’ll be forever greatful. It’s not just another bed to sleep in and mtg to attend. It’s a full program where you learn how to live a purposeful life. I stayed for just under a year about 6 years ago and I’m still clean. Also my counsellors are still in my life today. They truly do care and showed me I am worthy of love and being loved. When I was done my program they helped me find a place they kept in touch and still help me to this day. I am forever grateful to them and everything they do. I may not agree with how the house is currently being run but that aside it will change your life. I only say that because I have heard several times that it’s now very very Christian and they can be very sticked about it and house rules. And I personally think that when someone is getting clean it’s to much for them to be thrown a bible and made be a certain way or they have to leave the house. I think that’s a shame.god should never be forced on anyone. Some people take time to warm up to anything specially coming from places where it seemed there was no god and if there was he wasn’t there for them. When I went I had zero god in my life nor did I believe or want anything to do with it and bible studies, church and all that. But when went it wasn’t forced on you the way it is now. So with that being said from my personal understanding if you are not Christian or at the least very open to it you might want to look for a different home. But give yourself the chance bc it truly is a amazing house with loving staff specially Gisele and shelly. They have become a huge part of my life. I wouldn’t have made it and continue to make it without their support and love. And if one of you is reading this I have used a different name just to protect my identity. Anyway I learned how to live my life here, make friends, love myself and give love, how to deal with stress, addiction, anger, and most importantly they have shown me what a good person is. Expect to become a new better you when you walk out those doors. Rebuild all your broken relationships and rebuild all the damage you caused yourself and loved ones. You will do daily activities and classes, house chores, cooking, bible studies, relationship classes, boundaries, nightly meetings, camp trips, outings, make some life long friends, learn to become a good friend, wake up a decent time and bed at a decent hour. I learned who I was and what I wanted in life at life recovery. I still miss being there and I’ll never forget life and everything they did for me and continue to do for others.
