My local beach on Bowen, not the best beach on Bowen but pretty good (for Bowen) and has washroom facilities (outhouse). Has a swimming float in summer and a rough boat launch.

This is a review of the (west side) beach. ] This gorgeous, sheltered beach can be accessed by car, bike or bus. At times it is busy, and other days we have had the beach to ourselves. When folks are there, it is fun to watch people kayaking, swimming and picnicking. There are 'rustic' but totally functional washroom facilities (bring Purel :) I do not recommend it for ones with mobility issues, as there is a small incline down from the parking to the beach area. Other beaches on Bowen Island are flat. Our favorite thing to do is pack a blanket, some pate, cheese and crackers, fruit, prosecco...and watch the sunsets that are truly breathtaking. It is a short ferry ride home to be back to work/life the next day but you will feel as if you have had a mini holiday! Bowen Island has some cute shops, restaurants, artisans and a riot of fabulous scenery if you feel like kicking around a bit longer during the day...

After helping put on a family Wedding at Tunstall Bay Beach Club last September, I am pleased to write a glowing review of our experience. From the first phone call right through to clean-up the following morning we were met with friendly, helpful and professional assistance. We experienced a torrential rainstorm the evening before the wedding and the morning of, but some of our best memories were pulling together to secure our tents and tarps followed by the sun emerging from behind the clouds right before the bride arrived. During dinner and speeches, we enjoyed the most spectacular Tunstall Bay sunset which made for stunning photos. We utilized the built in movie screen and sound system for our family video before the band struck up and the dancing began. With careful planning we had room for a seated dinner on the main deck, buffet set up in the adjoining room by patio doors, with full band and dancing inside the lower level. Added touches of decor to compliment the charm of the club house created a truly Bowen experience which was enjoyed by all.
