I have lived in the Orangeville area for over 20 years and have seen many changes, the downtown area is no exception. Whilst driving, I am not a big fan of the large median dividing Broadway, but it is very aesthetically pleasing, and I enjoy checking it out when the road is closed for festivals. The Town Hall is beautiful, and includes Theatre Orangeville if you want to watch a live play; the plays are quite good. To the rear is a nice park that is used for the main stage during events like the Blues and Jazz festival. On Saturdays during the warmer weather, Second Street, right beside Town Hall, is closed to traffic for a farmer's market, always a good place to pick up local produce and chat with neighbors. Many of the old, historical buildings on Broadway, have renovated their facades and the street looks great. Broadway and Mill Street are now home to many unique shops and restaurants, a nice place to browse, Window Shop, find interesting items, and dine in great restaurants. I thoroughly recommend coming to the downtown area during the summer festivals, including the Blues and Jazz festival, and the Founders Fair.
