It's basically a dance competition. It would be nice to have some sort of narrator explaining things. The historical significance(s) of each dance or movement. Without an explanation the whole thing looks the same and becomes monotonous. I thought they would be more crowd involvement. I don't think inviting other cultures to the pow wow would diminish it but will enhance the overall experience for everyone involved. Why wasn't there any media covering the event? If it is important some media buzz won't hurt.

I guess I was a little thrown off right at the gate. On Saturday morning, the woman in front of me ordering tickets mentioned very nicely that the woman's washroom close by was out of toilet paper and paper towels. She was told, rather rudely by the ticket seller that it was not her job. It sort of made me wonder where the food vendors were able to clean their hands. She could have at least feigned interest. Enough said. Costumes were wonderful; it was a veritable feast for the eyes. The vendors were selling everything from beads and cheap trinkets to fantastic works of art. Worth the trip.

Came many times as a kid. Finally back after 30 years with my own family. A great Day. Great dancers and costumes. The food trucks were a great assortment and the arts and crafts tables were fantastic. We will return!

Grand River Champion of Champions Pow Wow 2018 was my second year and certainly not my last. I love seeing the dancers in regalia. I also love watching the different catagories ie: men's fancy fancy or woman's fancy shawl. I think probably one of my all-time favorites is the drummers and singers. Over all everybody are so nice and cordial.
