Welcoming School with Great Academics

Words can not describe how much Ontario Muslim Academy contributed to my academics as well as my religious values. I was given the opportunity to exceed my academic expectation while maintaining my religious practices. The environment was ideal with welcoming staff and student. Once I had graduated, upon entering public high school, the education I had acquired exceeded that of my peers. Alhamdulillah my experience at the school was one to remember and I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering bringing their children here.

For privacy reasons, I won't by stating my name. All I want to say is that this school really isn't worth your time or money. I previously attended this school as a student from grade 1 to grade 8 2014/2021. I used to boast about coming to this school so much but now when anyone asks I just stay silent cause I just can't take any pride in it anymore. Mashallah, when I had started attending this school it was really good, I loved it, but now I'm honestly happy I left. For all the parents out there, at this point I honestly feel it is better to send your kids to a public school and make them take madrassah classes then send them here. This school changed my views on Islamic schools forever. It felt more as if they were pushing the religion on students then actually making sure the student them-self was happy and wanted to learn about Islam. Also, more than half the time I was teaching myself the topics at home after school because most of the teachers didn't teach the students properly. They only paid attention to trying to get the students to get higher marks and didn't actually care if the student understood the topic or not. Also, if you want your student to end up dirty-minded then sure go ahead and send them to this school. It may not be the school's fault that most of the students there are pretty crazed in the head but it sure is their fault when they don't try anything to stop it. I've seen many students go up to the teachers and say really inappropriate things and 97% of the time the teachers didn't say anything about it. Oh, and the principals at the school made the previous year and current year students write good reviews so that their ratings would go up. Even their OWN kids were told too.

I do not feel comfortable stating my name but I have attended this school back in 2011/2013 This school is honestly the reason why I view islamic school's differently. First off the way they reply to these individuals comments are very passive aggressive and insinuate that the trauma that these commenters went through is maybe truthful and honest. The way they teach islam is horrible makes you want to stray from the religion. I was a past student and I have recently met up with other past students and every single student that we met with have endured VERBAL, MENTAL AND/OR PHYSICAL TRAUMA. Some of the individuals who I have met up with have needed to go the therapy from the trauma that they have endured. My brother would witness students being physically abused and I myself have been verbally abused to the point where my mom noticed a change in my behaviour at home and asked what could be wrong; after explaining to my mom what had been occurring with me at school she came in and had a talk with the teacher. My mother thereafter pulled me and my siblings out. My mom also noticed my sister teaching herself the curriculum and after going in to investigate she found that the teachers were under payed and not board certified ? I would not want my child to be taught by unprofessionals I noticed that they would talk down to students and pit them against each other to compete, creating this toxic learning environment. The principles on the women side made the girls clean the boys and girls washrooms and would gaslight any of the female students who did not engage in this behaviour by saying thing such as "would you want the men to clean it?". Why would men cleaning a washroom be a problem. They would make the female students clean up after everyone by making them vacuum, dust etc. They need to understand that they need to keep their home life culture out of a school learning environment. I truly do hope that this school has improved for the better and not for the worse. *****Also there is no need to discredit the feelings and experience that other commenters have been through, that is extremely unprofessional and very disrespectful and speaks volumes about the schools staff.

Great organization! Everything from the Facility to the Staff are all of the highest caliber. People treat you with respect and you can get help with anything, Islam related and day to day issues. The school itself is an amazing program directed to providing the best education possible within the Islamic scope. Highly recommend.

I’m a parent and I moved my kids to this school several years ago after I noticed that they are not getting much education in their previous school. The school provides a high level for academic teachings. Teachers work hard with the students to make sure they progress good. Keep in mind that parents also will need to put the effort, this is not a day care. And on top of that, this is for sure the best school in the area for memorizing Quran, there is no comparable at all.

Choosing a school for my children was one of the hardest decisions I have been faced with in awhile but I am confident that I made the right decision. No school is perfect but my children are/have become happy, kind, compassionate, smart little kids who enjoy going to school every day. This school gave my kids the eagerness to learn Islam. May God bless this school and all the staff that work there.
