An organization that takes your money to ride, including on Crown Land that is free, with zero accountability as to where the money goes. It is your right as a member to see that audited financial statements, however if you ask you will be given every excuse in the book. If you percist it turns into threats and harassment, including letters from their lawyers and club directors showing up at your home to harass you. Had to have Mark LaCroix, former VP, removed from my property by police. Facts they would prefer not get out include when running the Telus Ride For Dad event they collected $20,000 in donations for prostate cancer, which they expensed down to under $6,000 being given to the cause. Included in expenses were an over $1,000 high end BBQ "won" by the president's husband. Telus Ride For Dad pulled the event due the "excessive' expenses that lead to most of the donation to the charity never making it to the cause. Use of membership dues is not much better. From what little we know that isn't hidden. In 2015 over $110,000 was collected with under $8,000 ever making it to the trails. $11,000 was spend on "processing" memberships paid to another organization the president of this one is part of. The president also likes to take annual international vacations for "training" as a club expense. Spending your money on this "club" expecting to be supporting the sport is a mistake. Do not take my word for this. Do your research before you consider joining this club. Do not accept fake answer of what you want to hear, ask for proof of how the finances are handled.
