1) Ok, first A $100 NON-REFUNDABLE fee is required In order to reserve the elevator for moving purposes! If you need to move in or out, regardless of how much time it takes, even if it’s for 30 minutes, they charge you $100! Where does that money go? Is it really necessary? $100 gone into thin air poof! On that note, when someone does reserve the elevator there is only one left for the entire building to use and can be a very long and frustrating wait.
2) Some personnel, who unfortunately are also residents at Seaway, are in the so-called “building committee”. These fictional characters believe they have the law in their hands and think they have some sort of authority. Instead of following the proper channels and relating any issues to the building managers, they will harass you directly in the building while you are going about your own daily business. One pathetic character in particular, who lives on the tenth floor, harassed me in the elevator regarding having my bicycle in the elevator, with my 2 year old son standing beside me. We were heading outside for a bike ride but because I had my bicycle in the elevator, he thought he would flex his pathetic, no-life muscles in front of his wife, who is actually very kind.
Apparently we’re not allowed to use the elevator for our bicycles because it could damage the elevator. Ok. But the elevator I was using is dedicated for moving purposes, which includes anything from construction material from renovations, equipment, washing machines etc... No need to elaborate any further.
The surveillance is extremely outdated and almost non existent throughout the building. Anyone can pull the fire alarm on any floor and get away with it. It has happened and worst things could happen such as theft etc.... Which brings me to my next point. During a scheduled underground parking lot washing and cleaning, all bicycles in the bicycle rack had their locks cut because of cleaning purposes. There was a notice given to remove the bicycles. Fine. But first, how and where do we put our bicycles if we can’t use the elevator? Second, where is the courtesy to have all bicycles locked using a long chain or something , especially when they know that bicycle theft is very common. Apparently, it is well known to the building committee that people who take their dogs for walks leave the side door open so they don’t have to walk their lazy asses back around which would require an extra 100 steps. Long story short, several bicycles were stolen that night after the cleaning, including mine which had a baby seat on it (enjoy your high you low-life crack head), and these useless “building committee” characters couldn’t care less.
The bicycle racks are located on the upper underground parking and the man door is located on the lower underground parking. There is no man door at the same level as the bicycle rack to get the bikes through. The frustrating part is you are not “allowed” to use the elevator to move bicycles. So instead of using the portable keychain that unlocks the man door, you need to have the big bulky garage door opener and use the garage door entrance that is meant for vehicles. Terrible setup.
3) The fire alarm has gone off 3 times within a year, all in the early morning hours and usually lasts approximately 1 hour! Awesome if you have small children!!!
4) The lower underground parking constantly gets flooded when there is a significant amount of rainfall or snow melt! Apparently it’s been happening for a long time. Why is it still occurring? Where’s the building committee? Oh wait, they’re busy making the lobby look good!
5) Any sort of repairs, especially the road, are usually a “quick fix” and done very poorly. The asphalt road is laughable at best and still a disaster.
If you want to make changes that matter then re-read this post. Stop harassing people about pointless and minuscule things that don’t matter, only to give yourself some sort of make-belief power trip. Oh but the lobby looks good!
