After seeing this other bad review I just had to put my 2 cents in. If it was not for the kind hearted people at Cmha not only would I be homeless but I probably wouldn't be alive today. With thier knowledgeable staff they were able to help me jump through those beurocratic hoops of getting welfare/ODSP, thier sincere social workers are legitimately more caring and helpful than any therapist because they'll actually go WITH you to appointments to support you and help you remember. Because when you are in a crisis with noone to help you, Cmha will be there. You can meet your social worker every week if you wanted. Don't even get me started on thier housing program. If you get approved, they'll help pay for your rent if you can't accommodate yourself to a place (to live alone with no roommates) that meets your psychological needs.

Do not donate to the CMHA. Please protect your loved ones who are sick and ask for real help from the Government and do not allow CMHA to take money from the health care system where it is desperately needed by people like me. If you donate you might as well walk in and hand it to a staff member for them to keep. Donating is doing the same thing. Just hand your money to a homeless person instead and at least some of it will have gotten to the right place. With the number of CMHA staff over $100,000 a year it is just a crime against the mentally ill. Please donate to Parkwood or hand your money directly to the ill.Why give any to over paid useless people looking out for themselves??
